Diagnosis question

Hello. I'm a new member (age 18) and in the process of getting a diagnosis if applicable. Today the woman I am working with said "hmmm. Let me count up your points and we'll see if you should come in again."

I was confused. Does this mean I am closer to being finished or she doesn't think I have autism. How does the points system work?

Is this something I can ask her?

I think it's easiest to ask her. There are multiple assessment tools for ASD, it's hard to tell which one she was using and what she meant by her remark. It's probably easiest to tell her you are a little confused by what she said, and that you wonder if she could clarify what she meant.
 
I think that's something you'd get a better answer to if you ask her rather than asking here, because there's no universal method of diagnosis. I wish there had been points in my case because I like numbers, but there weren't.

Definitely ask. It is a spectrum; you may identify more with one criteria than another but ultimately, if your daily life is impeded, you qualify.

There are lots of tests, like everyone is saying... I know one of mine was 100 questions - each with 4 probable answers of each have a score value... Maybe she just didn't want to add it right then... and also I think in most cases you will see this person, and maybe another of their colleagues 3 to 4 times...

Like everyone has said... Just best to call and just directly ask... Its not a stupid question and only they have the answer you need.

Meanwhile tons of other stuff to dig in here, and take your mind off of it a little maybe, maybe not... Either way good luck in what you seek. : )

To talk to her I'd have to call and I don't like calling people :(.

She had me fill out a "Brown questionnaire" about my family and school experiences which has turned into a 15 page document. I sent this to her online but she hasn't brought it up. Its possible that she hasn't read it. What does this mean?
