Does anyone else like to play games online where you get to play the part of a detective and solve imaginary cases?

Reminds me of a very old DOS/Windows game called, "Where In The World Is Carmen San Diego?"

But it was before the Internet. Almost before computer security as the few of us who knew anything about entertainment software were running them on corporate IBM PCs....lol. With little to no comments.

"You start out as a rookie detective whose job is to track down a crop of thieves stealing the world's most precious treasures. After each assignment briefing, you'll be given a deadline to capture the thief that stole the artifact using clues dealing with your knowledge of geography."

I used to play a game called Adventure. Originally written in Fortran, ran on my work's IBM mainframe. I used to patch the code in binary [EBCIDIC] to enable me to play during the day and find the wizards password.

I was big on Alan Wake years ago. I want to say that I recall there's a hyper-real one coming out by next year where you are indeed a detective on a missing person's case - one that isn't some kind of Silent Hill toned thing - that it just stays grounded and normal. E3, the big gaming expo is coming up soon, so it should be mentioned or have a big trailer reveal. I can't recall the name, or else I would post it. Just know that folks are doing one. I remember reading the initial article about why the devs decided on it, and they said that the rise in true crime podcasts and shows like Only Murders in the Building made it clear to them that a grounded detective game is now or never.
