With COVID becoming endemic I am not celebrating its end. The BA variants show a great capability of injuring the immune system and long COVID with organ damage is not gone.

What WILL end COVID will be an intranasal vaccine that stimulates true protection against infection and transmission. The mRNA manufacturers have gaslit us. While those vaccines limit severity, they do not prevent infection and are very specific to the variant type. The Novavax vaccine, purified spike protein, shows great cross reactivity and is the superior product.

Are there any vaccines of any type that prevent infection? Aren't all vaccines merely capable of limiting severity of the disease?

The primary goal in vaccination is to prevent infection and stop transmission. How do you think that Smallpox was eliminated? That vaccine and many others prevent infection and transmission. The COVID mRNA vaccines that were hyped so dramatically fail at that. The only good that I have seen from them is to limit severity by limiting replication after infection. This slows down creation of variants in a highly mutable virus. In looking at the purified spike protein vaccine (Novavax) my surmise about its establishment of great cross reactivity is that it is good at inducing antibodies to spike protein domains which cannot mutate without damaging the virus.

The only way to stop Coronavirus infection is through the route of challenging the nasal mucosa to stimulate Immunoglobulin E. That is the only antibody that can be secreted, and will be the first antibody that the virus will encounter before attacking cells. IgE would provide sterilizing immunity, the objective of vaccination.
