Crash & Burn: "The Mummy"

Find the things that hollywood churns out presently are yawn, formulaic. On occasion and in the past, movies that they did were superb. Women many years back began to ignore hollywood as they often portrayed women as weak, only protective of their children. More and more I see movies out of hollywood as advertisements for the military and family values. A sort of propaganda machine of immense proportions. To keep the status quo, there is the male hero who survives everything and rescues the hurt or screaming female or child or comrade.

Unfortunately I've not ever been a fan of Cruise's acting. For the kinds of movies that he acts in he's adequate, although for these types of movies I'd probably choose Bruce Willis. Who does the wounded and bleeding and dirty hero more honestly with a bit self-deprecation. As far as Cruise being behind the camera, perhaps he'll eventually manage it. It's difficult to say.
 
Sadly Tom cruise's meddling behind the camera is probably what caused this to bomb,plus I think the Brendan Frasier mummy movies were much more fun and enjoyable,this new one just looks like Tom Cruise other movies with a lot of running and explosions.
