A couple of days ago, my computer stopped working; it would not turn on.
I am just getting its replacement up and running, though I peeked in using my iPad2.

Since my last one had an SSD, the tech that pronounced it dead sold me a [shell?] so I could use said SSD as an external drive and recover its contents...!

Yeah, sounds like memory died. If it's a PC not a laptop, you can open the lid, try to boot and look at LED lamps that light up during startup or listen/look for POST code.

My memory is bad, l can't do a clean boot, and my post code is a Korean error message. I blame Anonymous. But l am sending my condolences to you.
