Confused being Autistic

Anneke

New Member
Hi, I am glad I am a member of an autism group for the first time in my life. I have created many things and have also kept my life as simple as possible as I can get confused or overwhelmed quite easily. I find thinking of the past and future strange and like to keep in the moment. I tend to miss a lot of what’s going on around me. It’s like I can’t take it all in. Someone close to me once said of me that I look on life completely differently to other people.

I’m with this group hoping for answers and hopefully giving out to others too.

Welcome Anneke. You will learn here that, especially socially, many of us process social communication slowly or fail to understand what is happening. What happened to me especially as a teen was telling myself lies about myself as a way to make sense of my inability to understand the social. Those lies were damaging.
