Concentration issues

Hey everyone, I go to a certain STEM University for Computer Science and I’m loving it, but I’m having some issues with concentration. I take Aderall ER for my ADHD, which seems to work well to keep me very focused on something (once I actually start a task) outside of the classrooms, but I’m having some issues during lectures where I find myself completely zoning out, far too often and easily, even if I’m interested in the class. Anyone experience similar things? Any tips to combat this would be great.
Thanks!

Said it in a similar thread. Think about a dictaphone or an app on your smart phone to record an entire lecture. Not been to university myself but I can't see any reason why they wouldn't allow you to use one. If you're not sure ask.

Are you getting enough food and sleep? Dont forget the basics! And time alone for quiet time, nap, meditation?
Coffee and snacks kept me going.

Depends if you consider an average of 5-6hrs of sleep enough, only so much time in the day to get done what I need too. I do always allow time to unwind and relax, definitely necessary for me or I get too overwhelmed.

Sounds like me. I couldn’t sit through a lecture without some problems with focus. I get distracted very easily.

Write. Accept that your brain will wonder off but if your hand keeps on trucking then it will wake you up. I write the whole time, even if it is just words like "memory leak" or bullet points that don't make sense later. The act of writing keeps me busy. For some reason if there is one thing to focus on I drift, but if I'm doing a few things at once, like picking my hang nail with one hand, writing with the other and rocking slightly, it helps me stay the course. Also can you record the lectures and play them back in 15 min chunks?

Learn to take notes, it's how I paid attention to lectures in college. That should help with your concentration.

I took copious notes, which included doodles. Lots of doodles.

I have a memory that is mostly visual, so those small drawings actually help me remember what is said in meetings, lectures, etc. They help give context that verbal communication lacks for me.
