Change to Hippocratic Oath

Never had an issue with doctors here my previous doctor was Australian. older then I am. considering I live in Brampton, has a very large east asian population, so most of our medical professionals are now from this community. I have no idea what their medical philosophy is. The doctors bill the government, so pushing patients though is not the objective. Currently in and out in a few minutes.

Agree... but what I am trying to get across here is that the typical physician at a hospital or office will not have those sorts of contractual relationships. The vast majority are just "running the rat race" of seeing how many patients they can see within a certain time frame. It's about work units and billable hours.

Let's hope not. I get that.

However for those engaging in such behavior, you know that they aren't going to make it privy to coworkers or much of anyone else. Like so many crimes and ethical disasters, there's no way to account for them in an absence of discovery. A typical scenario with "white color" crime.

Which remains the "nature of the beast" unless they are caught or accused of such things. That the exposure exists, right along with the incentive of incredible malpractice premiums and a hefty balance of unpaid medical school tuition fees.

Neither is it lost on me for those who abandon their practice to go elsewhere at the expense of the community. A dynamic I know well as a citizen of Nevada. Not a good place to be if you have chronic or potentially lethal healthcare conditions to deal with. And in particular, women who are pregnant and soon to be expecting a child.

Many of our doctors are not western trained. current doctor somewhere from middles east not sure where he was trained or the philosophy that was followed.

Given your interest in statistics and sciences, I'm rather surprised by your bald statements.

In 2020, 26% of doctors in Canada were trained abroad.

A profile of physicians in Canada, 2020 | CIHI

In my experience, of foreign trained doctors, many are from South Africa, which most would call "western" in terms of its universities.

There are also a number of Canadians who study medicine in the Carribean, Australia, or elsewhere and thus are foreign trained.

So even if everyone else is from a "non-western" training, however you define that, the percentage would be less than 20%, for which your description of "many" would not be accurate.

Aside from those graduating from the United States, all other foreign trained doctors are required to complete a series of tests before they can start their Canadian residency. As such, their shouldn't be any questions as to qualifications.

Why do internationally trained doctors face barriers working in Canada?

As for where a practising doctor was trained, that information is publicly available through the regulatory body e.g. CPSO - Home

You appear to be suggesting that doctors of East Asian heritage have unknown medical philosophies.

Since you named some specifics, let's take a look at the stats...
* The most common surname (East Asian or otherwise) is Wang
* There are 7 Dr. Wang currently practising in Brampton, Ontario
* 5 graduated from a med school in Ontario (University of Ottawa x2, McMaster University x2, Western University)
* 1 graduated from a med school in the Carribean (St. Georges University)
* 1 graduated from a med school elsewhere (Beijing Medical University)

Just like the overall population of doctors, the majority are Canadian trained, and again, even those who weren't would have gone through many tests to show equivalency. Their philosophy would be no different than doctor of any other or mixed ethnicity.

Your statements are unfounded.

I want to give you the benefit of the doubt that perhaps your choice of wording wasn't the best but your posts read together sound rather xenophobic.

Not sure what your beef is I just thought this thread was too American centric other then that no issue familiar with hippocratic oath, which I like. my point is we are not Americans up here.
