Cause of one third of all autism cases may have been discovered by scientists

Notice that the mice were genetically altered to create less of this protein associated with a specific gene related to neural cell creation in the brain and spinal cord.

It's not like you can give someone a supplement and "tah-dah" no more autism.

What this study really does is add evidence that autism is a genetic condition and NOT a disease that can be cured, as such.

Fear not, Butterfly. This is stupid. There are thousands of proteins in the brain. If they took mice and reduced every single protein, and did the same research on every protein and every enzyme, well, I bet they would see the same thing.

They gave the mice brain damage. Does this mean they have social issues and routines they have to do and sensory issues? Can the mice say, "OH MY GOD THE SMELL ON THAT OTHER MOUSE'S SHAMPOO IS KILLING ME!!! PLEASE USE LESS!!!"

Can they hear the mouse saying, "WHy in F*** did that mouse just walk away when I was talking to him again? WHy do those other mice hate me? I am not even a mouse at all......"

No. They are just observing odd behviour and you can make a mouse act odd by doing a number of things to it. And then say Oh, it's autism. It's not autism

Autism is human because it covers our consciousness not just our brain. They tampered with the brain with no understanding whatsoever of the consciousness of the mouse.

This is not like cancer that they can observe and eliminate in test tubes.

This is not just the brain. It is the brain and thoughts and consciousness.

NT sicentists should stick with diabetes and alzheimers and leave us alone.
 
Hmm. I've seen plenty of articles say they might have discovered the tiniest glimmer of a cure or a cause. I'm not saying they're wrong but show me that these things can be used in humans with actual results and I'll believe in them.
 
This would be good news right now...if I were but a simple mouse :(

Who knows what exciting scientific discoveries the next study will bring? If anything's for certain, we can expect to hear about mice for the 100th time! On top of that, Mickey's grandchildren now have something to look forward to...

I read that too. That was one reason they thought it was vaccines because vaccines sometimes contain mercury.

It seems like every year they come up with another possible reason for autism.
