Cartoon that explains Aspergers for kids

I rarely watch regular TV, I am more of a Netflix kind of guy, but I was flipping through channels and came across this cartoon called "Authur" who comes across a friend that has AS, so they go into an explanation about AS in a way that kids can understand. Here is the part where they explain it:

I swear these kids are lucky today! I wish there was something around to explain this to me when I was a child. Anyways, I thought this would be good for parents of kids with AS to share to both their autistic kids and their neurotypical ones as well.

Man, I love Arthur. I guess this is a newer episode, or I might have figured out I had AS long ago.

I love Arthur too! :love: I watched it every afternoon as a kid. I might start watching it again, on Netflix. I saw this episode a while back (on YouTube, not on TV) and now I hope to see Carl more. I've only seen him in, I think, one other episode. Something about the kids building a rocket.

Heh, haven't seen Arthur in a very long time (And I assume this is one of the newer eps, because I just can't imagine them having tackled this when I was a child) but that was pretty great. The only animated shows I've seen make a direct reference to AS before were South Park and Robot Chicken, and those um... well, those shows being what they are, weren't exactly the most flattering portrayals.

I'd never seen this episode before! I always got confused about how they were all people-animals..

Younger kids always seem to be tolerant and don't seem to discriminate, especially if you share interests - I've found it's the older kids who have no previous understanding that can be quite unpleasant and rude.

Did they ever actually acknowledge the fact that they weren't human? As I said before I haven't seen the show in years but a lot of them were clearly different species from each other.

I don't think so! How do they explain having a pet dog, yet all the characters are are animals too? Mind = blown.

I'm still waiting for that 'guidebook to life' thing they mentioned to come in the mail, mine must've got lost.

I guess it depends on the dog. Don't try telling a Yorkie they're a dog. They'll just argue the point.
