Brand new social situation tonight

Tonight I checked out some new, what I'd best call a "hip hop" urban youth church service, of sorts... I caught wind of it through Facebook, walked in and I knew no one, typical Aspie's style,

I decided to wear one of my cowboy hats and my cowboy boots of course plus I have long hair and a beard, felt awkward right away not just because of what I was wearing  I love wearing my cowboy hat in all seasons, I once went briefly to a hip hop event wearing a long winter coat and my cowboy hat, stood out like a sore thumb and didn't care...

Anyway back to tonight, the pastor talked to me briefly but he was obviously busy, another lady introduced herself and we talked for awhile, after we both moved on felt awkward on my own...

Then the break dancing started, I'm not a dancer of any sort! A couple of friends from the local artistic community also got there, I still didn't know most of the people in the room... Then the poetry came out, that I could relate to better...

Overall a good night, I'll probably go back next month, this just happens once a month, even though I can't dance at all... :p And I'm probably the oldest person though, at 45, most of them are in their 20's or younger I would say...

Dont hate me... : )
But I just pictured this Clint Eastwood vs. Vanilla Ice thing going down in a church...
Thats just messed up, but if you had fun, go for it. : )

I'm all messed up... The storms are so loud here right now the lightning/thunder just sat me straight up... The wind is howling and I'm still 90% asleep, so mostly disregard anything I might write... I hope this blows itself out soon... Every now and then I am hearing a loud pop and thud... Its hailing at basically 2 am with no real chance of storms in the prior forecast... Wonderful : (

I'm going back to sleep now...

Wow- a Country & Western look at a rap event. That is brave.

Sounds like an alternative/ emerging church group. Wish we had a bit more that round here.

You were SO BRAVE! I would have liked to try it out too, just to do something new, but I would never do it. So YAY! I hope you find it gets better as time goes on, and not the Aspie Collapse Thing that always happens to me. :-O

I just like to explore the world... And I do have other hats that aren't cowboy hats, maybe next month I'll change my look up a little...
