Anything that can work the same as those triangular tagine pots as shown. At the time that I filmed those videos I never owned a French Pan, which I assume are the enameled Dutch oven that you're describing.Love your video! I have a clay Moroccan tagine, but I always just use an enameled Dutch oven. Dutch ovens are "American" tagines.
What is a dutch oven should it be Deutsch oven Americans screwed this up years ago. Wife thought she was Dutch when I first meet her.she is Pennsylvanian Dutch. This stuff drives me nuts. I'm Dutch mother never used a Dutch oven. if she ever did she would have referred to it in her language. I do not cook wife is filling me in mother would use dutch terms for any cooking equipment. So cook books are confusing to me check dutch tea spoon. I'll stick with metric measurements as trained in chemistry.

No, Americans did not "screw this up". Americans anglicized the name. You do you. America will do American. My German grandmother, born and raised in Germany, called it a "Dutch oven".

I have no idea what a Dutch oven is a dutch person would not use this term at least not in dutch language.which I understand.Dutch ovens work exactly the same as tagine pots. Google Le Creuset Dutch ovens to see what I mean.
I use a comal for many Mexican ingredients. In the US, we would call a comal a griddle. Same exact thing, just different names. I use my husband's great-grandmother's ancient cast iron pancake griddle as a comal. She might have inherited it from her great-grandmother for all we know.
