Children with autism will be able to enjoy a special Santa’s grotto experience at Stockeld Park in Wetherby.

The attraction has paired up with the Autism Angels charity to organise Christmas trips for youngsters who struggle with crowded environments.
They will be escorted by elves to meet Santa between 9.30-10.30am on December 3 and 10, before the park is open to the public. There will be reduced waiting times and quieter music.
The sessions are open to any child with a cognitive, physical or sensory disability. Sales and marketing manager Sarah Murray said:

“We want to ensure that all children can enjoy a magical experience with a visit to see Santa. We have great disabled access and working with Autism Angels helps us to draw on their knowledge and fantastic experience to reach even more children in our communities.”
