Aspergers and morse code

Hello:
I have been diagnosed with Aspergers and use high speed morse code to communicate and escape. I would like to spread the word about this unique method of communication . Morse code communication combines the fun and challenges of video games with the utility of cell phone texting to communicate with others. I hope to hear from you.
Autism researchers should be informed about this, you have to see, hear and try modern morse to realize how much fun and challenging it is. It is addicting fun- I have to have my "morse fix" every day. But, it is wholesome fun, does not have the dangers of internet and video game use and is a way for me to make worldwide friends without leaving my home or having to look at my new friend. It is also a great stress reliever (escape).
I write email after email message to autism researchers locally and elsewhere, seeking a dialogue and appointment to show them morse (local researchers), with no luck yet. Very discouraging- can someone help with this?

DW, I never conceived of this having a modern application.
At various times in my life I have learned hieroglyphics, now forgotten, American signing, now forgotten, some Navaho and Cherokee, now forgotten, German, Russian and Polish, now mostly forgotten, and just now what I wanted to tell you, now forgotten.
Would you be do kind as to tell an oldster that is not even text savvy some more details because I see an application for a more private communication, or coding.

I communicate at 30 wpm using a modern electronic key.A string of dots is sent as long as one paddle is pressed and a stringof dashes are sent as long as the other paddle is pressed. I ccommunicate with amateur radio operators over the shortwave bands. So much fun

Thanks, I think that this skill set is beyond this old cur, because my old hands are slow. My mind is willing but,...I hope you encourage some here to try this.

D/ that is too cool for this old fool. I cannot wait to see who else is hip to the morse code.

I admit that I haven't translated this, but I was into Morse code when I was a kid. I had this set of walkie-talkies, which is strange because I had no friends, so why did I have walkie-talkies? You could talk through them, but there was a button you could push to communicate through Morse code and it had a legend/guide right on the walkie-talkie. I LOVED that thing, and I would probably have learned it better if I'd actually used it. I mostly just...stared at it, I guess.

(btw, I cheated). How do you write a question mark in Morse?

If I had taken the time to learn Morse code I would welcome the chance to use it with another person. It would keep up my skills, challenge me, and make me proud of my special talent. Interestingly, and keep in mind that I am 71, both my paternal grandparents were telegraphers. When I was a little girl my older brother was a boy scout and my mother tried to force him to learn code. That wasn't fair because he was a poor student, even when he tried to learn. I often learned whatever my mother was trying to force him to learn. I still recall E,I, S, H and T, M, O. Also several passages of Shakespeare whom I never learned to appreciate. If I sent data on my phone tapping in code would be far easier because I have the clumsiest thumbs in the world.

Give morse a try, there are lots of us to talk to on the amateur radio shortwave bands. It is loads of fun and challenging-like video games and internet use without the risk. I speed along at thirty wpm occasionally.

once again, modern morse is done electronically with one paddle being for dots and the other vertical paddle is for the dashes. It is loads of fun. Check out morse code on You-Tube for videos of morse code.

There are modern techniques to learn morse easily and fast. Check out the "Code Quick" website on the internet for a fun, fast and easy way to learn morse.

I am a radio amateur. In my heyday I was the go to guy for morse contests. They used to lock me in a horse box with a radio for 24 hours. I occasionally test my morse speed on the iPad and I can still read 20 wpm plus, but i used to be high 30s and for contest exchanges I could manage into the 40s. Tended to use a mechanical bug key for sending.

I am starting to use a bug now

I switched to a bug when I had a valve (Tube as you would say) transceiver that was sending RF down the keying line and burning out the relays in my home made keyer. My last bug was a McElroy that I bought as scrap and rebuilt.
