I have been there for about 6 years now, on and off. Initially, it was definitely an obsession and I practically lived there and forgot about my 'first life'.
I still find it fascinating, even though it might seem primitive graphically, compared to PC and console games (in fact, it is a virtual reality anyway, rather than a game)

Anyway, most of the other avatar people there weren't really friendly. I had a few conversations, bought a few non-cost items and that was it. I even ended up getting a receipt for these items in my email like Amazon! I was like wth? The bottom line is I have no idea what I'm doing so I got "Second Life for Dummies" and I'm breaking it open tonight before bed. I don't want this to become an addiction - I do have an addictive personality. I found some medical buildings too! I need to see how the money works and if I can find a nursing job of some sort cause I'd like to get a house. What the heck am I saying?! This all sounds too insane!
