Any other guitarists here?

I play the guitar, and it's been my main obsession for a good while now. I was wondering if anybody else here does, as I'd love to talk about it (my family's probably getting sick of hearing about it anyways...).

Once my van conversion is complete I wish to buy a guitar again. I played from age 16 into my early 20's. I had 2 cheap electric guitar, and 1 electro acoustic. Unfortunately that guitar ended up with a snapped neck. It was propped against a desk at work, slid and cracked on the floor.

I'd quite like a resonator acoustic next.

How long have you been playing? What type of guitar and music styles do you play?

No guitar, but I love playing my banjo. I will still spend time each day practicing licks and at least one tune. Practicing Steve Martin's, Tin Roof, now and getting the last section and finish.

I've been playing a little over a year now; I play a lot of stuff, but mostly rock (especially alternative rock) as well as a bit of metal, jazz and folk (on an acoustic ofc). I mostly play an electric (Squier Strat) but I have an acoustic too and I play on my dad's classical occasionally. How about you?

I have a fender sabre and an ibanez-I used to play them a lot but with work and home I just don't get as much time now.i definitely found bass easier than 6 string it was a teacher at school whom saw me struggling with a 6 string who said why not try a bass ,she taught me some bass parts from The Police and I was away.i play all sorts ,lots of 70s,80s stuff-lots of police songs

I like the left hand technique and the licks in that song with slides, hammers and pick offs. The first two parts I have come up to speed on but on the last section I sometimes have a little issue with clarity of the notes that I pick when playing up the neck. I read tablature as I still am pretty much a beginner. I have a Deering Goodtime II. I got it for its sound and resonance. It has a Maple frame and neck; wonderful wood and so resonant.

The whole of blood sugar sex magik is arguably their best stuff if you like hard funk rock. Not something I listen to all at once because the Rubin production is pretty ear fatiguing, something about the drums gives me a headache after a while. The track sequence is oddly paced and too long (73 minutes!) but its thrilling to blast in short bursts!
