Waking up happy is not something that I normally do. I can become happy during the day if good things happen.
But my nightmares and bad sleep quality (and some medications) make me feel disgruntled and sick in the morning.

That is exactly how it is for me too. I have nightmares every night. They are stress nightmares, always situations where I have to do my best and people are pressuring me but nothing works out. Every night all night long. Sometimes I do not want to go back to sleep. It is hard.

Meditating or praying before sleep could help with sleep issues, along with relaxation herbs like Valerian Root.

I did. I woke up at four, turned my alarm clock off so it wouldn't ring at five-thirty, and fell back asleep!

I usually wake up frustrated because I most likely just fell asleep. I have adapted to being more of a “cat napper,” than anyone who sleeps for long periods of time.
