Hey,

I’m 31 looking for some adult (18+) Nintendo friends. I play Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pokémon, and I’m usually on Mario Kart or Sonic Racing online too. I’m pretty chill and not super competitive, just play for fun. I prefer text chat over voice and I’m mostly on in the evenings. Feel free to message so we can swap friend codes!

The only thing Nintendo that I have really put any considerable time into, is the Metroid series IP. I've played Pokemon on and off. But I really don't touch that IP anymore.

I loved Metroid dread, I haven't played prime 4 yet as I heard it was a bit of a let down.

I love nintendo games. But it's js so hard to get into them nowadays since they're all like $80 and require the new $700 nintendo 3d switch 2 to play (let alone $10 a month for online and $50 to play more than 3 games without losing space.) Doesn't help that the company sucks.

But the olden consoles and games totally rock!

Switch seems cool, but after I learned to drive and stopped using public transport - I really didnt have a use for a handheld console.

I know it could connect to a TV, but I too am with the PC gaming crowd.

It's ironic, really. I've been waiting for a decade or two for Dread to be made and released. Lo and behold it releases during my long videogame hiatus to get myself together in my head.

In regards to Prime 4. I'd not put stock in the opinions of others. Unless it's unanimously hated. Even then, I'd not knock it. Something to keep in mind is that games will not please everyone. And that's okay.

I remember when people hated on Prime 2 for being 'too difficult'. Sure. The game was a pretty big jump in difficulty, compared to Prime 1. But I enjoyed the difficulty, in spite of the trama inducing Boost Ball and Spider Ball Gaurdian sub-bosses.

I game handheld and from my lg c4 these days, mostly the switch and my Steam deck the few times I want to play something from my Steam library. As I said above I can't remember the last time I powered on my desktop. After 15 years I've had it with desktops 😄.

I like Nintendo in theory. Grew up with their games, and all that. I was born in 81, I had my first console (the 2600) at age 3 (so I'm told) and an NES not too long after that. Those old games are still just as good now.

But a lot of modern Nintendo stuff... ehhhh. Many are just far too easy to hold my attention, and some have just changed in ways I dont like. Like I really cant stand the Ubisoft style of game design... "open world" and all that... so I didnt like the modern Zelda games one bit. I lasted 5 hours before getting bored in Breath of the Wild, didnt bother with Tears of the Whatsit. And so on.

Mostly with Nintendo these days I only care about Mario, and even then, only sometimes. Metroid Dread looks okay, the Prime games though I dont like.

I do have a Switch, but it hasnt been used in a couple of years. I dont intend on getting a Switch 2, I dont understand what the point of the thing is. It looks mostly the same as the first?

I play primarily on PC (mostly through Steam, sometimes through Itch or Epic), and also my recently acquired Steam Deck. It helps that with those two devices, I have total control (even if Windows does have a fit every now and then on the PC).

Heck the Steam Deck can handle all of my emulation archive. It was so easy to set up.

I dont have a Switch emulator specifically... sounds like a pain in the butt to get and I'm lazy... but if I did, I might play Nintendo's modern stuff a bit more since I wouldnt have to deal with the Switch itself. My Xbox controller and also the Steam Deck itself are very comfortable to hold, they dont wreck my arm, so I prefer to play using either of those. The Switch Pro controller is "okay" at best, and the Switch itself, in handheld mode, is almost unusable for me. I think it got used in handheld mode for a grand total of 20 minutes. I just cant use the thing without wrecking my arm. Not the best design, that thing. Why is it so flat?

I tell ya one thing though, there's gonna be one big exception to all that, which is the upcoming Tomodachi Life game.

The previous one on the DS, that was something special. A game like that only comes around once every thousand years or so. I'm willing to deal with the Switch for that one (in docked mode). Granted, I have to find the Switch first... heck if I know where it went. Though I wont be too pleased with all the blasted cable switching every freaking time.

Other than that though, it's generally retro stuff for me when it comes to Nintendo.

i've played all the main zeldas, Marios and the pikmin games. also animal crossing. i really liked captain toad and lego city too. Zelda wise im definitely more ocarina of time than breath of the wild. I had a handheld at one point and played the whole back catalogue.

ive never got into multi-player games though

I have a Switch and Switch 2 and play games on them often. I’m up for anyone interested in trading Pokémon, needing items in Animal Crossing, and playing multiplayer in Super Mario Wonder or a few party games and board games like Clue or Uno. Only Mario Party game I have and play is Super Mario Party and I also have Kirby Air Riders if anyone wants to do City Trials with me.
