I have The Wind Rises on DVD from Netflix and am very much looking forward to watching it. In my queue also is The Tales of Princess Kaguya, another Studio Ghibli film, which was nominated for an Oscar.

I have The Wind Rises on DVD from Netflix and am very much looking forward to watching it. In my queue also is The Tales of Princess Kaguya, another Studio Ghibli film, which was nominated for an Oscar.

Both of those films are fantastic, as is pretty much everything I've seen from Ghibli. An other common thread between those two films is that they are very much hand crafted, eschewing the computer technologies endemic of contemporary animation. Princess Kaguya has an intentionally rough style of line art coupled with pastel watercolors. The style harkens back both to the anime of the 60s and 70s as well as the more traditional brush art of the past. The Wind Rises they also use acapella sound effects, which is an amusing choise.

Oh me I’m such an anime fan XD I think it’s possibly the best thing to ever come out of Japan apart from the temples and the sushi and the lovely ladies who wear fantastic clothes
Im a very big fan of Naruto because I wish I could be a ninja sometimes and I often do the run sometimes XD it makes me feel so powerful and happy but my mum gets mad at me but it’s okay because she doesn’t know the way of the ninjas lololol I sometimes wish I could marry Sakura because she seems like she would make a really nice wife and I sometimes get jealous of Naruto because she’s so lovely XD The ability to use swords and ninjastar but in a none violent way of course because I’m not violent but I would be if anyone hurt my family but my mum won’t let me use knives so I just pretend with the tinfoil and I’m taking to a really nice happy place ;3 They always seem to love badboys but I’m trying to be one but I don’t look good in leather XD
