Am I bipolar?

I've come to realize; one moment, I feel like I can take on the world and fulfill my dream of marriage, and the next, I don't feel as hopeful. Does this make me bipolar? Because I have been wondering for a while now.....

No, it makes you human. Everyones emotions unjulate up and down. People with bi-polar have much sharper and dramatic swings. You would know if you were having a manic episiode. We all have an emotinal wavelength. BPs can have much sharper spikes up and down.

I used to ask myself the same thing. :p One minute you're cackling at the idea of chasing some crazy scheme, the next you're curled up in a corner feeling numb at the prospect of your soul and your mind dying with your body. I don't think I'm BP, though - just a worrywart with an odd sense of humour.

I have the same experiences where I feel like the smartest tool in the shed and then feel like an arrogant fool who is developing a fat head full of egotism :( This causes me to stop learning to program or do anything else because I feel like I'm only wasting my time doing so. I develop doubt and uncertainty when this happens and wonder why I even bother with it. I also become melancholy and frustrated with myself as well as depressed.

I don't think it won't hurt to talk to someone you can trust, like a therapist or doctor to see about getting tested for a diagnosis, just to be safe.

Also it bothers me when people put themselves down (especially Aspies) because I hate how society had taught us to feel bad when we make a mistake or is having a bad day :(

With apologies to any members that might be medical doctors, this is something that members here cannot diagnose. If you have concerns that you might be bipolar, please, please seek the help of a medical professional.

I am a medical Dr and what you describe is normal brain function. Besides in my 25 years experience, I have never come across someone in the manic phase of bipolar with insight into their behaviour, so your query kinda excludes yourself from the bipolar label.
