agree or disagree?

Looking at myself... yes, I agree.

But it does depend on a few factors I think.

Is it a goal you want yourself, and as such intrinsic motivation?
Is it realistic?
I might even state; Is there added pressure of time?

For me those are at least 3 things which usually count for me to state I can or can't do something. I always felt those 3 things are sometimes overlooked when people want to achieve something in the end. I don't go for the "but you did it"... yeah, don't ask me how. I wanted this myself and I had unlimited time to do so. And sometimes the unlimited time thing is hardly realistic quite often.

I always do what I say I'm going to do. I feel compelled to. I would get really stressed if I were not able to do what I said I would do.

I agree with Margaretha. I generally do what I say I am going to do one big reason is it bugs me to no end when people say they are going to do something, be some where, and then not do it or be there late and not say anything. So I treat people most often the way I would want to be treated so it bugs me a lot when people are inconsistent with me over and over again.

All the projects I've started but never finished, are not "canceled projects"... they are just on "pause", waiting for time and funds. They *will* get done, someday.

That sounds fairly familiar... but that's a good tie-in with what I proposed as "Is there added pressure of time?"

If I have unlimited time I'm good to go and can hold of whenever I want to... it doesn't mean it doesn't get done... just not right now.

Definitely true for me. However, it's often in my own time-frame and I can't be pushed to follow someone else's agenda.

This is probably the most accurate answer for me.

Unless there's a reason for me to get it done immediately (or I want to) then it will be done. I don't mind getting things done and out of the way, but I can't stand being pushed into things- or being "obligated" or "pressured" over things I feel aren't THAT important (at least to be done immediately.)

Usually I wouldn't agree to do something unless I did genuinely have plans to do it. If I agree to something and don't particuarly want to, it still will get done eventually- so long as outside forces don't interfere.

Oh... the "someone else's agenda" thing does sound a bit familiar right now.

My mind wont work if I'm pressured like that. Currently I have a file of papers which I need to file complaints for... yes multiple complaints @ multiple companies... but to come up with decent arguments I need time AND a mindset. I'm not postponing stuff indefinetly. I know I'll get to it, but it sometimes bothers me that it's a "within 2 weeks" thing.
