Advice on starting a Conversation first hand

I don't like non-responsiveness. I can obviously tell when someone read my text and didn't respond on Messenger because it gives automatic read receipts. I swear to God it even happens when the text I send to the other person first is a question. It opens so many doors to all sorts of worries, because I have a history of alienating so many potential friends. The fear of friends abandoning me is very strong in me, while everyone around me always says that it's irrational.
