I didn't know that they existed either until I looked up "food that starts with K". Apparently they aren't really kiwis, believe it or not, just a small fruit that heavily resembles them.

Actinidia arguta (hardy kiwi) is a perennial vine that produces a small fruit resembling the kiwifruit. They are an edible, berry- or grape-sized fruit similar to kiwifruit in taste and appearance, but are green, brownish, or purple with smooth skin, sometimes with a red blush. Often sweeter than the kiwifruit, hardy kiwifruit can be eaten whole and need not be peeled. Thin-walled, its exterior is smooth and leathery.

Got that from the Wikipedia page, but shortened it so this wouldn't be a mile long. You learn something new everyday, I guess.

It's a fruit that comes from a tree of the same name, but when I first looked at them, I thought they were something made out of eggs.
