  • My husband: “How do you close tabs on a phone again?!”
Sometimes I think he is an old man trapped in a mid twenties body lol

"Vintage rotary dial telephones can vary widely in value, with prices ranging from $50 to over $2,000 depending on factors like rarity, condition, and model. Common models from the 1980s may cost between $50 and $80, while rare or exotic colors and models can sell for significantly more."

Oh my. (Said like the Pink Panther.)

That is... a lot. For an old phone.

Right now that's an issue putting so much stress on me. The inevitability of caving into the 21st century and buying a cellphone. An inherently inferior device when it comes to online security. The world is closing in on me bit by bit in this respect.
Cheered up my best friend Levi by going to the thrift shop- he’s an expert thrifter (his special interest) and really has an eye. He had fun posing me for a “photoshoot” with what I bought.
And a brand new unopened cheeseboard?!

I'm a spice guy too. We have a local chili company that does a spicy sauce that goes well with chicken called 'Blow your Cock off' 🐔 geddit heh heh 😆

Working in a thrift store that primarily does women's clothing was like a crash course in fashion. Lol. I didn't even know what the names were of clothing items or designer labels at first!
Clever way to style my husband’s shirt (on myself lol)

From watching the weather reports for your area , I'd say flannel is quite popular right now with just about everyone. ;)

Could be awkward here though. Next week it is supposed to reach 85 degrees.

That looks reminds me of the iconic "We can do it!" wartime propaganda poster!
I’ve been quiet for the past day or so because I’m helping my best friend who is really struggling with his anxiety. We’re having a sleepover right now, and I’ve put on some meditation music for him and having a snuggle. Just a reminder that everyone is going through something ❤️‍🩹
We're having a thunder and lightning storm. My husband is afraid of both of those things. Poor guy.

I didn't but it always scared me. A quake only lasts a couple of minutes usually, but when you're trying to prevent your prize aquarium from breaking it seems like a very long time. :)

I guess I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I love the crash of thunder, especially when the lightning prepares me for a loud sound that in other circumstances I would be repelled. But here in the High Desert it pays to keep on eye on lightning strikes, particularly in any serious absence of rain. Dry lightning is what so easily sets the desert on fire here. When you want to immediately contact the fire department.

Storms still terrify me, too
Another Preds game night with the guys. Hoping our boys in mustard yellow will defeat the Kraken, but so far this game is uh… not going well.
    At least we have snacks…

My husband and I desperately want to go on vacation. Our honeymoon is scheduled for June because of the unpredictable weather we've been having here, and because our hockey season ends in April. It's hard to wait, though.

We're going to our summer house :) We just want a nice, chill vacation far away from everyone and everything, and don't want to have to worry about booking flights or anything.

That's the best plan, most touristic places are too crowded in summer anyway.

Makes sense to have such a plan. Hang in there....:)
Long, boring drive this morning… maybe solved by car karaoke :P
These playoffs are absolutely not high stakes btw, we are an entry level team playing against hot messes who drop their sticks, fall, and hit the post on an empty net… it’s been called the “consolation cup” lol. That is how we keep bulldozing everyone. We just suck *less*. It’s just for fun!

This is like 1000 levels below the NHL 😅 More like @Outdated's bowling team...
I'm in no way trying to demean myself or imply that I'm a bad goalie, but I'm usually up against goalies who block shots like they're blindfolded, lol. For what our team is, we're very good, which is why we keep winning, but the competition is usually dead in the water.

If anyone wants a laugh, look up "funny beer league hockey stories" or "weird goalie stories" on Reddit, lol. I can't share links here because most of them are rude, but there are some good ones on there.

Have fun stomping the rookies! 😁
We have a playoff game in Connecticut tomorrow afternoon, and I’m already wiped out and lagging from this past week in general. It’s been chaotic lol. Hopefully I can get it together.
I've obviously mentioned that my husband and I are Nashville Predators fans (hockey team.) So is one of our friends. My best friend, however, is a Buffalo Sabres fan. The Preds are playing the Sabres tonight and we're all watching the game at our house.
My dad (also a [former] hockey goalie) said "Looks like someone's getting voted off the island" 😂

They've also got a relatively "old" team- most of these guys are my age, or more. They need some 18-20 yr old players. The veterans run out of steam halfway through every game.

Pekka (husband) and Levi (best friend) are gonna be fired up at each other for the rest of the night lol. Just what we need before we play in a travel playoff game tomorrow :D

@thejuice, I have lots of those shirts as football is my fav sport, followed by hockey. I used to love basketball until the Buffalo Braves pro basketball team left for California in the 1970s. We do not have a baseball team either .No offense to Detroit, but I cannot follow their local sports teams as once you are hooked to your prior home teams, I keep my allegiances there.
I genuinely feel like I was born in the wrong time and the wrong generation. Spiritually I am 20 years old. Lol

My friends who are in their early 20s (most of them men, mind you) like to have sleepovers, watch hockey games eating nachos, and hang out at the bowling alley. When I was 20-21, my friends and I were sneaking into bars, and traveling a lot.
I kind of love that young people nowadays have a renewed sense of joy and innocence.

20-21 a lot time spent in bars pretending to have a GREAT TIME! 😄👍
So grateful to spend so many nights like this with my friends

Great movie snacks. Do you actually bring them to the theater like I do? I sneak them in my backpack. I am an invisible ghost so no one cares when I go to the theater 100% of the time alone in NYC.

    They are cookies :)

Lol yes we have snuck them into the theatre before!

Good to know they both let you get away with it. I though it was just me feeling invisable.
My team has a playoff game tonight… and I just blew out my knee :(
Worst timing possible. Thank goodness we have two other goalies but I’m obviously pretty upset.
My best friend has a really profound fear of the simulation/backrooms theory. He has OCD (so do I, but mine is treatment responsive) and I wonder if it's a manifestation of his OCD. I'm not judging him at all, just seems like an unusual and specific fear. Anyone else really afraid of stuff like that? I'm curious to hear your thoughts because I'd like to know how to help. Didn't feel like this should be a whole thread

In any case, I don't really worry about this either way, since if I am a simulated being, there is nothing to my knowledge that I can do about it anyway?

Fortunately, “noclipping” is only possible in video games so I wouldn’t worry about ending up in the Backrooms.

@cooljethro That was my thought too. That if it’s true we can’t do anything about it anyway.
    Thanks for the replies!
Pekka, our friends and I just found this in a store 😂 the guys are all laughing their butts off, and I did also laugh, but I kind of hate that it exists lol

A wedding gift from a friend- these awesome posters for Pekka’s office, including a painting of his jersey (they are from Etsy)

In case anyone wasn't sure on the pronunciation, my last name is pronounced "Lowry-nen", not "Laurie-nen." (That's how I write it phonetically for English speakers)
Common misspelling of my husband's first name is "Pecka." Just don't call him "Pecker." Lol

I’ll think more about a better one. Thanks for looking out for me.
