  • Pekka (my partner) and I have realized that we have too much of a routine. Everything is like Groundhog Day. We need to change it up a little and get out of the house more. We don't go anywhere, other than work, the rink, errands. We've gotten a little too comfortable doing nothing. Being married doesn't have to be boring.
My dog is lucky he's cute, because his farts could strip paint off a wall. This is partially how he got one of his many nicknames, "Mr. Poopybutt"

Dog V4 likes sausage treats. You don't hear the side effects coming. One moment clean air and the next a foul cloud envelops me. He seems to like unleashing his fumes while laid on my lap.

    Lol. Same with Enzo.

We call one of our cats “Princess Poo” for the same reason… and because she drops Godzilla sized craps in the litter box.

I swear we are functioning adults :p

Being a (ice hockey) goalie, I think of something completely different when I watch makeup tutorial videos, and they say to put the eye shadow in your "crease," lol. (It's not an innuendo, it's an actual term for the goalie's designated zone on the ice.) But now I can't hear that in makeup videos without thinking "Stay out of my crease!"

I like watching make up videos a lot, if i were to play hockey i would prob. have the opposite problem lol
Getting married in two weeks, and the nerves are starting to kick in. Nothing to do with the relationship, just the pre-wedding jitters that I think everyone gets. It's a big step. Not that anything will be different at all between us, it's really just signing a silly document. Just somehow feels more tangible and real now, and a little anxiety-inducing. But change is hard for most of us, even good change.

@Jonn Nope, no kids for us. I had a hysterectomy a few years ago, and neither of us want kids.

I am a hardcore antinatalist, btw.
    Always have been.
I know way too much about the dark underworld of society. ;)

Who can afford kids? Kids have so much to contend with. l wasn't planning on having a child.
Nothing says “I love you, happy Valentine’s Day!” like getting up at the crack of dawn and sharing a giant bowl of tater tots… at least the bowl is festive!

Random thought for the day: The way I hear my own voice in my head (internal monologue) and the way it sounds when I actually speak, are completely different. Anyone else experience this?

I used to sound like an American!:eek::eek:
Too many American TV shows in my youth, I guess.
I am not sure if this is still the case. 🤔

Because I've been recording music near continuously for the past nearly 10 years, I've gotten used to how my voice sounds. It is very weird to hear a prepubescent version of myself though: I found old tapes I recorded of myself back then, and it sounds so strange.

The way my voice sounds to me when I speak (not my internal monologue, but when I actually physically speak out loud) is totally different from what others hear. It has got me in trouble before since sometimes my out loud voice is misinterpreted to imply something I did not intend. Some people say it's a mix of working class NYC and northern Arkansas, as if Tony Soprano lived in Fort Smith, Ark., for a decade. lol
It's 11pm on a Wednesday night and we're just managing to make dinner now! You'd think we'd been doing something a lot more exciting than hanging out at the library, and shoveling the driveway...

Shoveling snow is an amazing work-out, gyms should offer that. :)
Will never pass up an opportunity to add a Pointer statue to our collection... Enzo's twin was well worth the $$

...And 24 hours later, same story. Although we played a hockey game today and won 3-1!
Rest of the day was boring, worked, and went to the library. But life is usually pretty much the status quo all the time living in the middle of nowhere. It's peaceful, at least.

That's beautiful, peaceful is a bonus. l did go to a tiny restaurant tonite, and we were so thankful for the family of chef's, and their two cute kids hanging out. We beat the Valentines crowd on Sat.

Tiny restaurants are always the best. We are regulars at our local diner.

Really nice that the chefs bring their kids to work!
Hi, not planning on staying for very long, just wanted to pop back in and say hi :) It's been two and a half years lol.
A lot has changed... I'm getting married on March 1st to my boyfriend, Pekka, who I bought a house with in November. We live way out in the countryside now. I still have Enzo. Most of my dogs have sadly passed on, or had to be rehomed because of life circumstances. We now have cats and farm animals.
Hey Luca! I see it’s your birthday today. Happy bday! I hope you have a fun time and make some awesome memories. :shortcake:

Lol yes I'm ok. Just went through a LOT of changes and a lot of growing up in the last few years of my life, and don't even feel like the same person anymore.
Thank you everyone for reaching out. I've missed you guys and hardly stopped thinking about any of you <3
Definitely going to go back to the dark brown hair. Blonde ombre does make me look more sophisticated, but I'm not ready to look (or feel) like a grownup yet. I know I complain all the time about people thinking I'm a teenager, but the old "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" adage applies here.

If a good human then yeah being a dog isn't so bad. I'm sure Enzo is very happy with his life with you.
