    So, on the way to the bus stop, I threw up and a lot of it got on my work shirt, but I did not have time to go back home to change it. Then my bus was 20 minutes late - over half an hour of standing in the drenching rain. I am wearing my jacket zipped up at the office to hide the state of my shirt. This is not a great morning.

    I wish I could shower myself in Benjamins, clean my body with hundred dollar bills, be filthy freaking rich. OK, maybe I am not being serious here. I just want to be able to afford to buy steak again.

    Reality check. Forget the affordability when your Gout or GERD can't handle that kind of food any more. When only highly processed meats are your best bet in moderation. Funny I discovered I can eat a lot of "Slim Jims" with no apparent issues. Not a substitute for steak though...I get that. :(

    Though we all know how healthcare industry feels about "processed" anything. :oops:

    I want to go home and curl under a warm blanket after taking a hot shower and putting on pajamas, brew some tea and heat up some chicken soup, watch a comforting brainless action movie.

    Mom just called. She resents that I won't help her cook her Thanksgiving dinner and that I won't help decorate her house for Christmas the day after. I resent her shame based parenting, but I decided not to respond with that.

    You can break it, but you need to not only DO the required actions (locking her out, ignoring the phone), but also CONTINUE them. But only you can make those actions happen.

    And if she tries to escalate or do anything dangerous, get law enforcement involved. Seriously, you need to DO something. Imagine how much better you would feel with her poisonous influence gone. But if you dont take action, she will never, ever stop.

    So I basically have to wait an hour downtown in the rain because the bus I was relying on to make my transfer never showed up. Public transit here sucks, I am thinking of quitting my job so I don’t have to ride the bus again.

    I'm sorry this happened. I remember a time when my Dad took off for a while and left my Mama and I stranded at the horse pasture with a tropical storm or hurricane (I forgot which but it was one of those bad storms like that) coming in. We had to start walking home with it like that. I tend to try to look at such things as an adventure, stay positive and just roll with it. I hope you made it back home ok.

    Is there a local paper that you can write for? We have a free one, Northern Exposure, where any movie column is catch as catch can and not consistent.
