  • I just remembered that I used to suck my fingers until I was 9, which my mom hated but it soothed me and made me feel less hungry. Although, that memory still feels so foreign, it's weird to think of how many signs there was but I just didn't think about things like that...
Honestly the worst thing doesn’t seem to be the interpersonal social stigma but the intrapersonal stigma with having to accept being disabled even as a concept, it feels like admitting it, means I’ve given up on smt… idk what.
Like I have difficulties that no matter what I can only manage not remove but it feels like “being disabled” is like throwing yourself at the wolf here especially alone as I technically am.

I have never considered myself disabled and anyone else that thinks so usually ends up quite surprised, but at the same time now that I have a formal diagnosis I'm not afraid of using it where it gives me advantages.
I don’t know how much I can do and ask of people since I don’t have a formal diagnosis. Just thinking about all the little helpful things I could include in my routine to help with overstimulation and financial problems as I get the gov ASD benefits makes me hopeful but also nervous.

A formal diagnosis doesn't matter in any way here. Either the things we say click with you and help you, or they don't.
I just understood how to use reactions so please forgive me if I reacted with “Funny,” I only saw the smiley face and wanted to react with the smiley face C:

You are able to go back and remove them and, if you want, change them to a different reaction.

I was looking at sound cancellation devices the other day and saw that you can also get soft silicone earbuds specifically designed for side sleepers. They're not noise cancelling though, they're just white noise or regular music playback.

I have slept with headphones, and it does improve the quality of sleep.

Here's a picture of the ones I have. If you like them, you could use the image search on Amazon to find them or similar ones 🙂 They are pretty cheap.
