    Schizoid versus Asperger's Syndrome

I am almost certain I have either schizoid or schizotypal pd. This thread is interesting.

    Disability Geography - Autism research

Well, yes. If I'd be up for one, I'd be up for the other. :sunglasses:

    Disability Geography - Autism research

Textually, like a questionaire with room for small essays.

    My Obsession(s)

In this case I think it's just a neurotypical euphemism for focusing on something you like even though most people don't like that thing.

First principles reasoning and asking too many quesions

I do that. I don't feel that I understand a thing until I know its roots. Even regular expressions. It annoys neurotypicals to no end, but I must know.

    Poll: Preference of Identity terms

On the topic of left-handedness: DaVinci wrote mirrored writing so he could drag his hand from right to left instead. It would be a nice thing to normalize. Do right-handed speakers of Arabic and Hebrew also smudge their hands?

    Poll: Preference of Identity terms

As far as I'm concerned, the condition is Autism. It's a neurological divergence, if only because it is relatively rare. I don't need to think of myself that way when it's just me, but it is relevant when I interact with other humans.

Trolling: Am I weird for not getting it?

Trolls feel powerful when they violate boundaries. I think they think it's rebellious.

We Only Come Out At Night

It's always better without people, and that is more likely to happen at night.

    My Obsession(s)

I don't know if it's specific enough to count as an obsession, or even an interest, but I really like reading languages I don't know or only partially understand.

    Delayed Emotional Processing

I keep assuming I'll process like a neurotypical, and I keep not doing that. I think that's what causes the delay for me.

    rote learning and autism?

Anything you can do with numbers has a pattern to it. Getting familiar with the patterns probably resemble rote learning. But, as much as I would love to be able to insert pure bits of data into my mind, as far as I can recall I have always associated new data with old data in some way to store...

Isn't forgiving just no longer caring?

    Conflict Resolution

One of the things with allistics is their idea of "making up" or "making things good again" or whatever you want to call it. And I don't know if this is an autistic thing or just a me thing, but I have alway found that redundant. You told each other how you felt about things when you were...

A history of Hans Asperger, Leo Kanner and their colleague Georg Frankl

I get that people want to forget Hans Asperger, since he was a Nazi. It wasn't just for show either, he advocated for killing some disabled children, just not the secretly clever autistics. I just hope we can forget Kanner, too, since his contribution was essentially, "yeah, this thing exists"...
