    The last thing you bought?

Bought a 4K body cam in a Black Friday sale. Sick and tired of bad drivers endangering me on crosswalks during my evening walks. Getting high quality video for the RCMP and from now on it gets expensive for these cheeky buggers. Quite happy to take a day off to testify in court about the...

    How come help doesn't exist?

Everyone can walk away. Not everyone will succeed at it. The biggest thing I learned from the experience is this: Never take someone else's word for what your limits are - find out for yourself. You may be pleasantly surprised. Or not. Things were obviously going to end badly if I stayed...

    How come help doesn't exist?

Not arguing. Relating my experience. Trust me, you'll know when I pick a fight as I don’t do subtle.

    How come help doesn't exist?

I have schizophrenia in addition to Asperger's (my official diagnosis back when it was a diagnosis). It's a twofer and not a great one. If you think lack of resources and stigma are bad for those with ASD, I have news for you... I see everything in patterns and the over-arching pattern I saw...

What's wrong with saying "mild" or "severe" autism?

I have the same issues with most of the major AI platforms as a Canadian. FWIW, I'd put money on you AND give odds in your favour. I like the cut of your jib.

    How come help doesn't exist?

Systems tend toward being self-sustaining. A system that helps disadvantaged people cannot run out of clients or the caregivers are out of work. They're great at maintaining the status quo. That's not so great if your default condition (as a client of said system) sucks donkey butt. I like good...

    Hello there

Cheers from a fellow Aspie and hiker in Western, Canada (prairie region, but close to the mountains). I will have to give the Discord a pass. I'm trying to move away from darker humour (wife isn't a fan). Welcome to the community.

I'm so glad you have your gran. Lost mine a couple decades back and miss her so. She was a wonderful lady.

    Past determining my future

Only if you aren't learning from the mistakes. What is working? What is not working? What problems have you noticed in yourself in self-inventories? What problems have you fixed? What problems are you working on fixing? What things can you learn that will help? What are your short and long-term...

List just one thing you did today

It hit -13C this evening, with another -5C in wind chill for -18C. Tested out another combo of the winter gear and it worked very well. I started out comfortably cold and finished a two hour walk cool with no perspiration. Used the heated gauntlets on low and they kept my hands warm enough...

    How come help doesn't exist?

I had to learn to solve most of my own problems, or at least learn how to manage the intractable ones. Waiting for others to fix things for you usually means you die waiting.

Don't remind me that I need to do this with my M4A collection. Ugh.
