    NT's vs Aspie thinking.

Being good at STEM is more of a stereotype I think. We cannot be all good at that due to spiky strength profiles. I hate math (even though it was my major), absolutely can't stand and never understood physics. I code well and have a decent understanding and ability in that area but I absolutely...

    Blurred vision anyone?

Well, it's not at the end, more like a half of the video starting around 1.26 where everything gets slow and floaty. I think it's what they are trying to show. I had a little of it here and there and it's impossible to depict really.

    Blurred vision anyone?

It's somewhat exaggerated but fairly accurate depiction of me at a restaurant, except blurry vision and the derealization at the end. Just watching this got my adrenaline pumping. Sensing all those little sounds from a distance...totally.

    Never felt sensory overload.

For years I had anxiety in certain spaces like shopping malls and offices. It was always implied by me and my-then therapist that it was the low-self esteem stuff. Which proved to be a totally bs premise. When I enter such space, the sensory wave just hits me, I want to turn off the sounds and...

I'm Sam, and I'm sick and tired of not connecting with people

Hi Sam and welcome. I know how that feels without any doubt. You want to be connected but can't. Very little interest in what others are interested, just doesn't align. Most of the things people are talking about feel incredibly irrelevant. Politics, sports or whatever mind numbingly boring...

Reading body language - I thought I was good at this

I wonder what it would feel like for an NT to take the faces test. In my case I seemed to instantly grasp a general class of emotion and then play a quick Jeopardy in my mind before hitting a button. A few times I asked myself to pick my own word describing that exact emotion and it was kinda...

Reading body language - I thought I was good at this

Yes, I definitely derived a lot from the words. Intonations were subtle and confusing a lot of times, but worlds were highly suggestive.

Reading body language - I thought I was good at this

I somehow did well on voices and faces. Too well in fact, considering that I wasn't too sure on many questions and the choices didn't quite provide the best option. So, I am apparently more perceptive than an NT female :D :D Test taken on 8 November 2019: You scored 78.0% in 15.3 seconds...

Reading body language - I thought I was good at this

Reading the mind in films Test taken on 8 November 2019: You scored 12.0 out of 22 in 12.7 seconds The average score for males with ASD is 12.3 out of 22 in 10.0 seconds The average score for females with ASD is 12.1 out of 22 in 9.2 seconds The average score for males with suspected ASD is...

Can somebody direct me to those tests? I am not good at looking randomly. Thanks.

Interacting with family members from third world countries who think that ASD is fake

Thanks. 20+ years in Canada will do that to you :)

Doctor brushing me off because of anxiety?

Perhaps not all, but lot of doctors are just "like that". Unable to listen, brushing off. Some told me outright idiotic things in regards to a specific complaint they couldn't find an immediate reason for. I think when faced with masses of people they develop a lot of bias that they are not...

    New Routines

    New Routines

This all is really impressive. I am nowhere near your level of ability with my interests. Usually I get stuck in a rut going in circles without achieving anything particularity great.

    Newbie question: muted emotional responses?

My wife tells me that I look pissed often even when I am not. Not the same as flatness but perhaps similar. I have a significant amount of alexithymia.
