do you pay attention to the calendar

I've tried to explain this aspect of my personality to my coworkers, and the ones who I suspect of ASD understand it, even if they have mastered the issue, and the clearly NTs don't. I have two jobs, a podcast, and teen children, and I'm always forgetting things or being surprised by how soon an...

I got employee of the month, unfortunately.

Thank you both! I was very touched that my coworkers think that highly of me, but of course I don't know what to do with that emotion, so... It's a vicious cycle. lol Praise me! But not too much. And definitely not publicly.

I got employee of the month, unfortunately.

On a bright note, a lady who comes into the library where I also work recognized me in the paper and struck up a conversation. It was nice. :) (And of course I need another job, because they gave me a plaque instead of a raise. lol)

I got employee of the month, unfortunately.

Yeah, that's what it felt like. Just an opportunity for them to manufacture press for themselves. My boss was quite petty about the whole thing, because they never did that for her. lol But the team is mostly very supportive and uplifting, which is what I hope they got out of the whole thing. I...

I got employee of the month, unfortunately.

I'm the office manager of a small team of people. Four of them are in the field all the time, and our boss is not a good communicator, so I'm the one keeping them in the loop, printing whatever they need, solving problems, etc. They love me, I love them, and they banded together and nominated me...

    Body/mind disconnect

It's hard for me to put into words what I'm feeling about this. I have a half-gallon water bottle that my boss gave me, and I'm going to fill it up every morning and drink at least that much water every day. We'll see if I can sustain. The mystery injury thing--I identify with that, too. My...

    Body/mind disconnect

I think I'm dehydrated also, and low blood sugar at times. I think a long time ago I equated any feeling of tiredness or dizziness or headache to needing food, and so now I eat way more often than I need to, thinking it's going to fix these things that I often feel (because I'm old lol). I...

    Body/mind disconnect

Since my recent self-diagnosis I've been trying to unravel the decades-old, layered-on mask from what I am really like underneath. My feelings are never right, and so I have ignored, suppressed, or tried to change what I'm feeling for my whole life, almost 50 years. One thing I've noticed since...

    Undiagnosed, seeking info

Thank you for the warm welcome! I have taken a couple of online quizzes. One was this Aspie Quiz, scored both neurodiverse and neurotypical traits (sorry, can't remember the exact scores!) and the Autism Spectrum Quotient in which I scored 37 with 32-50 being the threshold for ASD likelihood...

    Undiagnosed, seeking info

Hi everybody. My name is Sherri, and my 16yo daughter was diagnosed with autism last summer. The more we learn about autism and the ways it can manifest in women, the more my kids are certain I am on the spectrum as well. I'm 49 years old, and have had a lot of issues that I have overcome, such...
