Can a person be a special interest?

I would like to point out that intense interest also can make people feel really special. When you lose interest in them they might get hurt.

    Letting go

@Gritches Thank you for that long and thoughtful response. A lot of what you are suggesting I write to her I feel I already did when I apologized for emailing her in the first place. So I think I got the message through. And even though it sounds tempting to shift the feeling of power...

    Letting go

Yes, that is one of the many things I have learned after reading a lot of posts here and for me it's probably one of the things I find the most heartbreaking.

    Letting go

Not going to try to argue on that. But, in general, how can an "outsider" know the difference? I read about people pushing others away, though they don't want to, and express sadness because people disappear from their lives. Some also express anger because NT's, like me, can't deal with...

    Letting go

I will try to keep this first one short. When I first came to this forum I wrote about how I had met a wonderful woman this summer. How we developed a close relationship, but then she ended it quite abruptly because of her physical illness. I didn't know how to deal with it, and I got a lot of...

The puzzle piece problem. An apology.

Thanks for all the replies! And really cool to read what you think about this and also to see your suggestions for symbols.

The puzzle piece problem. An apology.

This was more like a -just in case. In the forumpost I read, I understood that quite a lot of people on the forum thinks the puzzle piece is provocative, something I really understand after reading their arguments.

The puzzle piece problem. An apology.

I recently came across an old thread discussing the puzzle piece being used as a symbol for autism, and I want to apologize for having used it. What I didn't realize was the fact that the puzzle-symbol, as far as I understood from the thread, is made up by NT's . And for a lot of people on the...

Does anybody else's obsessions cause them to feel negative emotions?

I know I'm NT and I assume you are talking about special interests, but what you are describing is exactly how I feel when I'm in love. So even if I have never experienced this in terms of a SpIn, I still can relate to the feeling. It's sad that you feel that you have to pull yourself away from...

    fallout

I have only played Fallout 4, but loved it. Unfortunately I got a bit tired of playing it after some hundred hours, but I often miss the atmosphere and being in there. In those cases I watch some fallout-videos on Youtube. Really exited about Fallout 76 though.

    I'M SO DONE!!!!

I am so sorry to hear about this! Please don't give up. The world is full of idiots, especially in high-school but there are some good people out here too.

    I can't cope being a single parent

Do you live somewhere where it's possible to get some help? Taking the load off your shoulders for a while?

Post a random Google image of the first vehicle you drove.

A Simca. No idea what model, but they stopped making them in 1979.

    “Mild” Autism?

Thank you for sharing the link! As so many of the things I read on and via this forum, it is eyeopening!

Explaining alone time in a relationship?

As an NT I would have appreciated full honesty about the needs regarding alone time. Like - Is it ok if I send messages during that time, just to say I'm here, or would you prefer total quiet? For how long does the need for alone-time usually last? Also, I would probably have liked to be pointed...
