NT husband here looking for some clarification

I dunno. It needs to be something big, to get her to realize. Maybe send her off for 3 months to live by herself (aka a "Trial Separation") and she can't see the kids unless she arranges with you beforehand. Give it some thought, don't jump into that one...

Autism and Cancer, are they related somehow?

Reading your account, it sounds as if aspies and autistics are better at detecting when their bodies are diseased. And they can then do something about it. I'm happy to hear that you did. Wouldn't this mean that they would live longer, because they are more aware of their bodies? Perhaps...

NT husband here looking for some clarification

I'm the aspie. In this case, the aspie needs admit/internalize/realize/whatever that it's NOT okay to have an emotional affair with someone else. I made this choice and it allowed myself and my wife to go on and deal with other problems in my marriage. There will likely be more issues for you...

    Asperger's and Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Yes, I imagine that's what's needed to offset the awful taste/smell of cider vinegar! But I hear that cider vinegar is a wonderful thing, so I agree it's worth a try. Off topic: change the cider to whiskey and you've made homemade cough syrup... :-D

    I'm losing my wife

I'm in a similar situation. I've been through Hell about things like this. It's hard to put into words and actions. 1. You're making it worse than it is. It's likely so. Try relaxing a bit. However, don't FORGET it. There's something there. You need to do something about it. 2. She...

For Those of You That Are Married...

My wife found that it wasn't positive enough. In other words, the web site didn't help her decide if it's worth it. Or give enough detail on how she did it. (Something like that, I need to ask her again.) And there were others on this forum that pointed out the lady didn't actually ever...

For Those of You That Are Married...

Yes. I'm working through things right now. Does anyone have a success story to share? I mean, there's so many negative stories, can someone share a positive one?! :):D

Emotions and Logic - is it me?

I hear you @Spencer Carr . If you want a little reality with your Sci Fi, check out The Expanse TV series. I was blown away by the realistic handling of "what happens when the gravity goes away and you're involved in a space battle and you get pierced by a piece of shrapnel..." and then the...

Yeah Rich, go! The extra training always helps. Maybe go to the class early and practice by yourself before the class? I find even a few minutes each day helps, and then you're much better at grading time. :)

Emotions and Logic - is it me?

I haven't seen it. I was avoiding it because they might misrepresent a broad number of topics about being ASD. Has anyone watched it, and can you comment? I'm pretty cynical about them being able to portray this properly. :( If no one can say, I'll volunteer to give it a watch. It brings...

Emotions and Logic - is it me?

Hmmm, yes... movies. My avatar is from a movie. I totally agree with @WereBear, the emotion they use behind the logic... just sucks. Those long running fictional dramas ("The 100" on Netflix (have watched, barely hung in there), and maybe Game of Thrones (haven't watched, so I'm guessing))...

    The physical fitness thread

As for me, I've been going to a gym of some sort for... about the last 30 years or so? I work in an office, so it's needed badly. :) Currently I do tread mill running for 20 minutes to warm up. This is better than an actual running track because I can pace myself electronically. I can't...

Don't discount it; walking is actually great for you. My father keeps fit by walking every day, no matter what, whether it's -40 or +40, he goes. He's getting old, and he's outliving a lot of friends. I remember a doctor did a video and he said something like: if there's one thing I can...

TV Shows you WOULD like to see brought back...

Firefly was great! Now we have The Expanse. Give it a look... that seems to be the best sci fi series now, and down the same vein as Firefly. Tangent: Sci fi in space as well, but not as good: Dark Matter, Killjoys. Sci fi on Earth, again not quite as good: Orphan Black (final season)...

Could my new boyfriend also be an Aspie?

Yes I see what you mean. I like the way you dealt with that. This can happen to me as well, so I know what you mean. Is there a way, in the situation, that I can just think about it like an NT: I don't _have_ to answer all the questions right now! Let 'em spew! Give 'em an emotional...
