    Knitting a small sweater

That's amazing!! Also, it's so cool that you were kind of learning knitting backwards, or mirrored. A family friend taught me to knit when I was about four. It's been kind of a big passion of mine ever since.

    Knitting a small sweater

I have heard about macrame coming back in style! I haven't tried it yet, but I want to give it a go in the future.

    Disclosing autism to friends?

I have a bit of a confusing situation. I am not officially diagnosed, even though I am 95% sure of my self-diagnosis. My therapist has even confirmed my suspicions and said that I would likely get an Asperger's diagnosis if it still existed here. So, here's my question: can I disclose...

    Knitting a small sweater

Thank you so much! Yes, reading knitting and crocheting patterns is so difficult! I usually rely on picture and video instructions to help me.

    Knitting a small sweater

Thank you! I've loved dressing up my stuffed animals since I was a kid. I thought it would be easier to practice making a sweater if it was a tiny one, rather than an adult-person-sized one .

    Knitting a small sweater

This is such a nice thing to say!! Thank you. I've been knitting for over ten years now, and I like it a lot.

    Knitting a small sweater

I’ve been working on this little sweater for a stuff animal. The written pattern is kind of hard to understand, so I’ve had to undo certain parts and remake them. But all of the main pieces are done now! I love the cable work. I’ve never done this much cable work in one project.

Do you Need to Decontaminate After Socializing?

Kind of. I feel physically ill after directly interacting with people for a while. So I have to do a recovery similar to what I would do if I was sick: rest, drink water, etc. I wonder if the need to change my clothes when I get home is similar to the "decontamination" concept? I wear...

When being social ruins your special interest

I find myself toning down my enthusiasm for my special interest so that people will keep talking to me. I've even directly asked someone "how obsessed are you with [topic]?" just so I could know how shallow or deep I should talk about it :tearsofjoy:. I avoid talking with others about some of...

How Long Do You Last At a Social Gathering?

It usually isn't up to me, bc I go to social gatherings with friends or family. So I usually have to stay there for as long as everybody else wants to. I would say about 2 hours of a gathering where I know everyone, and then I start getting restless and need to be by myself. I can do longer if...

You phrased this in a way that I relate to a lot.

    Burnout tips?

I really need to start meditating again... I haven't in a long time, and I think that's a small part of why I feel stretched so thin. Maybe I'll go on more nature walks.

    Hello! Happy to be here

Nice! That’s how old I was when I first started listening to BTS. Omg, my family and I love that bad lip reading video!! Now I have to go watch it again

    Hello! Happy to be here

He’s a lab/pit bull mix, according to my family’s best guesses. Someone had dumped him on the side of the road as a puppy, and we took him in. BTS is a k-pop band that I really like! Ah, I would be able to answer the last question, except I can’t remember the song I used to memorize it.

    Burnout tips?

I've reached that burnout that autistic adults are all-too familiar with. I've been masking so hard my whole life in classes, jobs, and other (semi)professional settings. I've reached a point now where it's really, really difficult to keep masking. Even thinking about putting on a hyper-friendly...
