    Misogyny

I agree with all the sentiments in your post. I wish there was something that could be done about this behavior by the mods. Being autistic and having trouble forming relationships is one thing, but talking down to women is just not acceptable. These people make the forum a worse place!

Extreme social anxiety caused by certain words or topics

I’m not a psychologist and I can’t diagnose you, but this sounds like sexual orientation OCD to me. With OCD, even things like certain words can be triggers. I would recommend you see an a therapist- even better if they are an OCD specialist. And, in the meantime, The OCD Stories is a great...

    Mocktail/virgin cocktail appreciation thread.

Strawberry daiquiri. Drank them virgin all the time as a kid. When I turned 21, I finally tried one with alcohol. It was awful. For me, alcoholic beverages have to be 1. very very sweet, or 2. have very little alcohol contents. Otherwise, I just go with a mocktail.

    Putting Myself Out There

Exactly what it says on the tin- it’s been my New Year’s resolution to put myself out there more. I’m also interested in getting a new job, and even possibly dating. To reach my goal, I’ve become the head of a book club, and joined a neurodivergent support group. Those have both been going...

What does this taste like? Is it actually like beer? I detest the taste of alcohol, but feel left out in social drinking situations.

I really wish I had more people to watch movies with.

Some Discord servers have movie nights, although finding a sever that isn’t full of obnoxious teenagers is a struggle. Maybe there are some LGBT+ or adult only servers out there that host watch parties? If you’re looking for nerds or otaku to watch movies with, the best bet is probably finding...

    Struggling with intrusive thoughts... again.

The good news about this is: 1. Sexual orientation and gender identity related OCD themes are extremely common. 2. ERP therapy works, and is a viable treatment for OCD. Of course, therapy is not always a viable option, due to cost. But, if you do have the funds to pursue ERP therapy (with a...

Japanese man celebrates six years with cartoon bride

I mean, I know she’s not *real*, but Hatsune Miku is supposed to be 16 years old. So, not old enough to be married in Japan. Ew.

    Holiday blues.

I used to starve myself, and it only made my binging worse. It seems like a good idea, but in reality, it does the exact opposite of what you hope it’ll do.

I am no longer going to go for full achievement/trophy completions on most games.

I’ve never been a gaming elitist. Growing up, I watched my Dad play games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Red Dead Revolver. He would play until he got 100% one everything. My brother was the same way, trying to collect every Wumpa fruit in Crash Bandicoot. Somehow, I never got into games...

My right foot is in a ton of pain.

This is a tough thing to go through. I don’t drive, and rely on family members for transportation. I was meeting with my job counselor and she asked me if I had a bus stop near me. Like you, my closest stop is more than a mile away. I said I just couldn’t manage to walk to and from a bus stop...

    Working with my therapist.

Do you talk to your therapist about self-esteem and body image? I think that might really help you.
