On "A curious incident of the dog in the nighttime"

What do you think of the book A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime? Recently, one of my friends is writing an essay about this book, and I am very curious about how the book is perceived in this community.

    Recommend A Book

I finished "the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime" as one of my English Subject readings, and I consider the story to be an interesting one.

    Logic or Intuition?

Having intuition is sort of like being able to develop an instinctive opinion or feeling towards something at first glance without conscious effort. I think I have to clarify, looking back: this is just something I observe among students in my year group, but "way too many" is probably too...

    Logic or Intuition?

Just wondering, while making big and small decisions on a day to day basis, do you prefer thinking or intuition? Personally I like to think about the cause & effect of everything before deciding on what to do, but I've seen way too much people around me repeatedly making decisions based solely...

Do you need to talk about other people?

I think the urge for NTs to gossip about others largely stems from the tribal instincts passed on to us from our ancestors hundreds of thousands of years ago. It was essential during the prehistoric era to be informed of shifts in the network of relationships within a community, at least more...

    Social "intelligence" test

I got 29/36, supposedly better than 74% of participants. The strategy I employed later on into the questions, was to observe if the person was looking directly at you or to the left or right, then it is easier to differentiate between more "confident" emotions rather than the other ones. Another...

    NT's vs Aspie thinking.

I strongly agree with this. In my personal experience, I have learned to constantly analyze, typically outside stimuli and social situations, but also everything else. For example, when I am in a social situation, even though I am incompetent when it comes to empathizing with others, I can...

    Please help! Thank you.

Each of us have a different way of coping with sensory processing issues. I have strong touch aversion, as well as auditory and visual hypersensitivity, and I just want to be left alone in a quiet room when I've been overstimulated by my senses. My best friend is the opposite: she likes the...

How does the mind of an illogical person work?

Illogicality is closely associated with feelings and opinions. Logical people typically treat opinions like something they use/carry around with them. When they realize that a more sound and logical argument is out there, there won't be any problem for them to ditch the previous one and adopt...

Newby saying Hello - 29 year old Female awaiting diagnosis (self diagnosed)

I've been lurking here and there in this community for a while now, without formal diagnoses. Looking around on the forum would most certainly help, as I didn't quite understand a lot of the symptoms I possess, and now I do most of the time. Anyways, welcome to the forum:).

Does anyone like coloring, drawing or writing ?

I had only starting writing a year ago, but I have enjoyed the process planning and writing short stories. The 2 that I've wrote so far are weird science-fictions, and am planning on writing some more soon!

Autism being the only "awkward" disorder(other than Social Anxiety)

Just a little cultural fact here: "Autistic" translates to 自闭的 in Chinese, which could be translated back into English, literally into "self-enclosed". When Chinese people say they are 自闭的, they usually mean that they, get this, "don't want to talk". I can't make this stuff up.
