New England is like if "autumn" were a physical location lol. Fall is my favorite season and it's my absolute favorite thing about living here. I have lived in places that didn't have seasons, and as much as I love tropical climates as well, something is so special about autumn here. And it's the perfect place to celebrate Halloween!

Power is back on. I’m taking the opportunity to charge everything

I'm glad the power is back on! I really hope you and your girlfriend can enjoy a picnic together like you planned! If not, I hope you can do something equally as nice and relax together :)

That's so weird, because we had a power outage too. I live in the big city, so imagine rows of pitch black skyscrapers. It was incredibly surreal. It's a secure building, so you can't even get inside, up the stairs, into the garage, let alone up the elevator, without a key fob. I slept part of the night on a couch in the lobby. It was so dark and quiet. Sort of like being out in the country.
My power went out so I can only use cellular data on my phone, and who knows how quickly the cell service will get knocked out. I have two bars right now. So don’t freak out too much if you don’t hear from me until the morning. I will update as soon as I can.
Update: I guess no one was actually ordered to evacuate, my neighbors are just all leaving and they told us to evacuate as well. We are less than 200 yards from the coastline, to put this in perspective. There is a tropical storm warning for all of southeastern MA and the islands. I don’t know if we should leave or if we should just sleep in the living room tonight. But my parents are still awful

Sorry Luca thar you and family are going thru this.

    Stay calm.
They are evacuating my neighborhood because of Hurricane Lee, and my parents won’t even allow us to go to their house (they live inland.) Looks like we’re going to have to go to a friend’s house, or a hotel. My parents always stop short of truly caring, everything they do for me is performative (which is why I rarely discuss that can of worms.)
My girlfriend came home yesterday afternoon! We're so happy to be reunited. <3 We're going to have a picnic by the water for lunch and hopefully have a nice date tonight. I missed her more than I can even express in words and I hope we never have to be separated again.
This is what I got at the thrift shop in Boston/Cambridge yesterday

We got caught in a downpour so the raincoat (and umbrella which isn’t pictured) really came in handy!

That is so cute. I love the red raincoat

That was a good find. Our thrift store gets lots of new things,( GWill). So l actually picked up a brand new work jacket for my daughter. Trendy, young cut. There were a bunch of nice leather jackets about a month ago.
I'm being brave and not wearing makeup and wearing my hair in a ponytail today, and wearing sweatpants and a crop top, even though I have to go into downtown Boston later. Sometimes getting out of our comfort zones is important.

When l first arrived in LA about 7 years ago, everybody, and l mean your 92 year-old grandmother, to your 12 year-old daughter wore jeggings. It didn't matter what your shape was. Nobody cared.

I love doing this. Sometimes I wear a bright outfit--something people might make fun of me for--and go out to eat alone. It's really fun. Good to get out of your comfort zone and realize you're inhibiting yourself at times.

Downtown Boston sounds fun. What a huge city.
I've been pretty rapidly gaining back a lot of the weight I'd lost. I'm not bothered by it particularly, there's nothing to be ashamed of about my body, I'm just always in fear of people in my life making unsolicited comments. I don't know why it's so hard for some people to just live and let live and keep their mouths shut. I'm just not meant to be Barbie and that's totally okay!

I don't suppose people still believe the standard of a female is that which they see on TV which went thru 20 series of surgeries, which is unreachable in day to day conditions especially when bread is part of normal life, we'd been fed it since childhood, and the taste of sweet tends to be a common desire and craving documented scientifically.

There are grey areas in body shape, not everyone is either a celebrity or larger. People can be so silly and preoccupied with details and superficiality when they go outside to socialize, instead of having a good time. I guess socializing isn't a word, it's more so comparing humans to one another in the competition ladder of the world. What sourness.

Then young people get so worried that they keep extreme diets that make them faint when they are supposed to have a carefree time.
I’m already tired of doing errands this week and it’s only Tuesday. I hope I don’t have to set foot in another grocery store anytime soon.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who is sick of the week ahead. Everyone and their momma has been giving 100 dollar bills all week and last week, so we keep running out of change in the cash register. It’s tiring to break the bill and not have enough change. We had to make four trips to the bank today.

Shopped at big box store. Not too bad. The people were more irritating at the gym, then the store today. Sometimes errands are horrible.

People at the gym were always rude to me too. I only work out at home now.
Errands are horrible sometimes and are almost always a pain in the butt. The highlight of running errands for me is always getting coffee lol
Exactly a month until my *real* birthday. Not my un-birthday. It doesn't feel real that I'm turning 29...
Here's a picture from my birthday trip last year. Perfect vintage autumn vibes (I cropped us humans out lol)

I've been listening to podcasts about paranormal/unexplained phenomena while I've been doing chores tonight, and now I'm kind of freaked out. Probably not the best podcast to put on when you're home alone, it's quiet, and you live next to the forest. Lol

I think I've said this before, but I love / hate creeping myself out like this -- I'll be like, 'pff, I don't even believe in this stuff!', and then bedtime rolls around and I'm laying there going, 'why did I do this to myself?' :D

Luca, just read your rant room. Yes, l have heard that line. Almost like they set the entire mini drama up, just so they could shut it down. Like l feel they weren't even serious about a friendship. Now my sister-law lied and said she wanted to be my friend. Yeah right, guess, what, not me. She is just too NT for me. Lol
I'm tired of people making "you lost a lot of weight and you're still not skinny" comments to me. Did I lose a significant amount of weight? Yes. Am I in good shape? Also yes. Am I ever going to be "skinny" and look like a model? Absolutely not. There's no "one size fits all" for human beings. We come in lots of different shapes. I'm always going to be curvy and I'll probably never be under a size 10. And that's fine

Yes it is very wrong, society makes people feel so wrong for being larger body shapes. And it does not make u ugly.
It is hard being an easily influenced autistic too, they place a lot of emphasis on thin as beautiful and it definitely can make u view yourself differently especially when skinny is always beautiful and there is something so ugly and wrong and taboo about being bigger or having more curves.
    Aspychata
    Aspychata
Nobody is ugly. We are beautiful. Some of us have curves. Some of us are stick-thin. Who cares?

    So true
But some people do care and get very hurt by negative comments or feedback.
That is why it is important to be kind to others about their appearance no matter what they look like.
I found a prank birthday card that won't stop singing until the battery dies, and I'm going to get it for my friend for Christmas, but disguise it as a Christmas card that I made
I went on one of the longest hikes of my life today, and it was 80 degrees out. I'm so exhausted. I took a freezing cold shower and now I'm in bed.
