    Urge to destroy expensive technology

I get this urge when I’m approaching meltdowns…thankfully I can fight that urge, but I tend to do some other destructive thing instead. I have chucked my phone a couple times. Thankfully I have a somewhat sturdy one.

New type of captcha feels like it crosses a line

A bit long, so the TLDR is this: captchas have a new system that might be training AI models how to bypass anti-recognition techniques people use to protect their images from being processed into image recognition systems. To me this is the most egregious thing captchas have done. EDIT: I wish...

Same for me too. There are days when all I want is to talk to someone about everything I think is interesting. I can spend weeks on a person like this. After that, I need to go hide and collect more things to share again. I can’t spend time with people if I have nothing to share.

    Roommate... Again...

I will admit, I gave myself a self conscious panic a bit after I posted my reply (and this forum doesn’t let you edit or delete after a certain amount of time) because I felt as if I was being a little flippant with your struggle, or barging in with unnecessary advice when all you needed was to...

Vapes are something I need to have less of nowadays I think. Poor impulse control (and the fact that I have a tendency to stim orally) means that I can sit around and puff on one for far too long absentmindedly, both wasting the supply as well as sending me way over the edge. I commend your...

    Roommate... Again...

I know you said “just venting” but this is very relatable for me. This kind of reminds me of my ex. Not saying that to disparage my ex, more just thinking about some shared traits. They would be very particular about clutter and would want me to prevent as much clutter as possible, but they...

What is ur favourite kinds of shoes?

For comfort, just anything I can slip on fast that won’t give me heel blisters. For style, though, I just like hi-top skate Vans a lot. They come in so many unique colors and I love colorful clothing and accessories. I’ve worn enough grey, black, navy shoes to last me a lifetime back in high...

Worst though is that I still refuse to kill them. I always either hope they scurry off back to where I can’t see them, but if they don’t I have to knuckle down and catch them to let them outside. Ugh. I was already not sleeping and now I’m DEFINITELY not sleeping. Second bug anxiety bedtime...

Y’know, for all the things my ex took from me, something they left with me was their arachnophobia. Turns out being in a relationship with an arachnophobic person for a while can turn someone’s mild ick with spiders into a full-blown fear of them.

Hey, has anyone here ever tried the apple jacks pop tarts?

That sounds pretty interesting, but…I am always so conflicted when something tastes different than what it says it is. Kind of reminds me of when there was a pretzel pop tart for a bit; those were alright but I did not feel like they tasted as they advertised, hah.

    Weird thing happening with hyperfixations

I’ve heard that when having combination ASD and ADHD, this is a common thing. The ADHD need for constant new stimulus combined with ASD’s proclivity for special interests, apparently it leads to something like this. I do not have diagnosed ADHD, but I am similar to you in this way. This is one...

@tree you’re correct, which I normally do. Suncola sounds interesting… @AngelWitch I found that it’s possible to get industry soda syrup online that I could just mix with water, though it wouldn’t be Coca Cola flavor. I’d need to run a restaurant or something to gain access to that, which would...

I wish I could get cans of Coca Cola that went flat already, I like the flavor of the drink but not how intense the carbonation is (CC has one of the worst fizz imo)

How do you feel about competition in games / sports / social settings?

I find it absolutely hilarious how someone could accuse someone of cheating at a quiz game by memorizing the answers. That is literally how you pass a quiz.

How do you feel about competition in games / sports / social settings?

It sounds to me that you value people challenging each other rather than trying to prove skill, which I think sounds pretty good.
