How often are you accused of overreacting? !

I can get upset over the slightest change in anything and even the most trivial comment or something... and god help me with the time it takes to regulate back to being out of the mood. I hate these extremes they really get me down!!! I know how you feel.

    Emotional Self regulation issues ?

Also having to explain this to people is even worse and makes me think of quitting the world even more, no matter the type of relationship i have with the person and if they know about my issues

    Emotional Self regulation issues ?

can anyone even identify with this ? Maybe a shred is enough its something that really irritates me. Long story short. I made biscuits and iced in white choc.. the choc bloomed and they look discoloured, being the perfectionist that i am, i got irritated because i decorated and made them over...

How long did it take for you to accept you were autistic?

i have a love- hate relationship with my diagnosis as I do with everything in my life. I think in extremes and black and white and there is no middle for me, so some days its like i have nothing at all, other days when the slightest thing like a misunderstanding or me not picking up something...

    Sensory Issues Query

On the other hand, certain smells can cause me to physically feel content, i cant explain it, though smells i like make me happy, and i am more excitable and animated i guess. It doesnt make sense really, to get excited over a smell or a texture which i can keep stroking. The only way i can...

    Recently Diagnosed with HFA

i guess the difference in title is severity of symptoms and how they affect your daily functioning, it being you cant even function or go out, or if you can and your level of intensity of for example sensory issues are controllable enough to lead somewhat of a life. As I said I guess the...

    Sensory Issues Query

yes I agree with you on all of those, I guess maybe its a question of trusting your instinctings, however what I do get when I try to find out is basically - 'I think you are trying to find excuses to blame on your condition, or you are looking for things to attribute to that' - why on earth...

    Sensory Issues Query

Before I got diagnosed, I though that I was just being a wimpy, that everyone else gets stressed to some degree by environmental stimuli, but they were just better at dealing with it - now I realize that they barely register the noises, lights, and other variables in their environment that we...

    Sensory Issues Query

Hi all, so since I got diagnosed recently, albeit knew the diagnosis, I was looking back at my childhood and wondered about sensory issues. I mean the ones I am aware of I believe are not too serious or profound, though at times I get wondering if I have issues or am just being picky, or if even...
