Um hi... (Insert real title here)

I was speaking to someone from a local autism charity, she mentioned she is almost empathic, she can go into a room and quickly get a read of how people are feeling, picking up on cues others don’t. what she said was interesting, this can cause trouble because sometimes she picked up cues of...

Um hi... (Insert real title here)

Welcome, quite a few autistic people have OCD and actually all those conditions you mentioned! I am recently diagnosed autistic myself, not diagnosed with any of the others but no question I have them, was aware of that before I realised I am autistic. I hope joining here helps you as you move...

Great! Love to see all these videos! Check out ‘welcome to wherever you are’ there’s a lot in that I find meaningful as an autistic person. My favourite song is this one - Dry county - sorry don’t know how to embed!

Adult Daughter intolerant and condescending about me sharing my diagnosis and trying to educate her about it

Neri, firstly I am so sorry to read what you have been through, in your marriage and with your kids, getting the diagnosis should be a moment that helps you but so often brings new battles! i am recently diagnosed, my son sounds similar to yours, he has a learning disability and autism and many...

What was this? - Didn’t spot own step daughter!

Thanks folks, its helpful to hear this isn’t unique, thankfully it’s been laughed off but it’s a little unsettling cause if I’m not aware…how many other times might I do this and be completely unaware. I’ll look more into prosopagnosia which I had kinda written off thinking it wasn’t something I...

What was this? - Didn’t spot own step daughter!

Hi, I am not sure if this is an autistic thing or if I am just clueless! Today there was a coffee morning, I was to go first and speak to a few folks then take my wife down later once step daughter had arrived. We were running late which had me agitated as I wouldn’t have long down there, I...

I had enough of faith and belief in God

I’m sorry to read of your struggles Rettybaby, whatever you have experienced from Christian’s , if they have been abusive you need to be careful but know that God does love you! He has made you and has a plan for you. It’s not easy, I know that too, but He does love you.

    I’ve been diagnosed!

HI I am so glad you have worked this out and that life makes more sense! I think so many of us go through these journeys. Yeah, getting dx can be so costly, here in the UK in theory you can get it free on the NHS but that requires convincing and fighting with the GP that I could be autistic...

    I’ve been diagnosed!

Yeah that’s one of the things that got me looking into autism for me - realising I didn’t know who ‘I’ was. I really don’t know how to unpick all that lol but I had a free coaching session the other day and they said write things regarding the 5 senses that feel good - use those things and build...

    I’ve been diagnosed!

im trying to look at this and make wee changes that can help me. The issue I have is that I need to learn more about what actually helps me - I’ve masked so deeply im not really aware of who I am. I know I’m always close to burn out and it doesn’t take much to make me spiral to very dark places...
