Best Places To Work! An Autistic Adventure in Corporate America 2020-02-25

I was semi-active on this site a long while ago for about six months (late 2016-early 2017), which was from the time I was diagnosed with Asperger's until I started my first job back in the working world post-diagnosis. Then I dropped out. What happened after that? That's what the book is about...

Return Visit, and Telling You About a Book I Wrote

Hello everyone. I wasn't sure where to post this, and I haven't been active on the site, so I thought I'd reintroduce myself and tell you about a book I just published about neurodiversity in the workplace and office bullying. I was semi-active on this site a long while ago for about six months...

    Promoting an Aspergers-related book?

Hi, I posted here somewhat actively for a short time after my diagnosis. This site means a lot to me, seriously. Then I dropped out when I started a new job, which turned into an absolutely crazy situation. So crazy, in fact, that I wrote a book about it. A fictionalized memoir about my...

    Not able to explain emotions.

That's solid gold right there. Thanks for sharing the excerpt.

    Not able to explain emotions.

Alexithimia was the second-to-last "finally the answer to why I am this way" that I discovered before I was diagnosed and realized that all of the "answers" were symptoms/manifestations of the underlying neurological condition. I have a very, very hard time believing that 1 out of every 10 NTs...

    Not able to explain emotions.

Steam, do you think you could elaborate on this observation more, because I feel like this has happened to me throughout life as well. Perhaps in a separate post so as not to hijack Ashley's questions. You and I joined AC at nearly the same time, and it seems that we are at about the same...

    Being Diagnosed Later in Life

This is the part that is so difficult to explain to NTs. It's not that you can't master social interaction, at least fairly well, it's the amount of energy required to keep it all together while processing the social input as best you can, running through your scripts of what to do next, and...

    Being Diagnosed Later in Life

I don't know what I would have done without this site during my diagnosis process, and my young son's, and the first months of adjustment. And I've read the new member forum since then and repeatedly see people introduce themselves with exactly my same story. We must stick around and pay it...

    I don't know what's going on.

Many of us, myself included, were diagnosed with ADD and many other psychological conditions before discovering that those were all symptoms of the underlying problem. Keep learning everything you can about aspergers, and the answer will be revealed. Welcome, and good luck!

    Hello

My son was diagnosed at age 3. First of all learn to be very careful about the advice that you take for her. Also the more time you spend here getting a feel for Aspies at every stage of life, you will begin to find the right answers and know the right help to seek. Welcome and hope you will...
