    Can you handle some jokes/teasing?

Of course they didn't do it, they just thought it was funny to pretend they had. My psychologist told me that it's actually normal for a 6yo to not perceive such a story as playful teasing & not necessarily related to asperger's.

    Can you handle some jokes/teasing?

Incidentally, I still think people who can't crack a joke, unless it is at somebody else's expense are pathetic and should send themselves up for a change!

    Can you handle some jokes/teasing?

I can see now that it was my Aspergers that made me react so badly to teasing as a young child. That didn't make it any less upsetting at the time. Fancy believing that my family would put a live crab in my bed! I was too little to know that the crab wouldn't live & I guess I figured that they...

    Can you handle some jokes/teasing?

I grew up in a family of "jokers" & I feel it often went too far or that my parents did nothing when it did go too far. (Eg: My brothers would give me hell for being a "try hard" in social situations or tease me about being fat, when just over a year ago, I had been hospitalised for anorexia.) I...

    Hello, I Am New Here.

I don't know if I have learned to mask but I know I no longer do many of the things that got me bullied as a child. I still avoid socoslising because I don't want to impose on people. As a child, I would talk my head off & not realise I was boring other people. Now, if I get even a hint that...

    Sound Frequency Sensitivity

Yeah, people noise is bad, especially whispering for some reason. How anyone can enjoy those asmr videos with whispering is beyond me! Fact, I find a lot of them quite iritating, all those little sounds amplified, ugh! That horrible Samsung whistle tone, I'm glad I hardly hear it these days...

    Sound Frequency Sensitivity

I know a lot of you are sensitive to sound but does anyone else that your reaction to certain sounds can either make you want to punch a wall if they're unpleasant or if they are pleasant, send you to the 7th heaven? Alarms, car horns, cash register beeping, ugh, get that noise away from me...

obsessing over past relationships or social situations

I had a freaky perfect memory before I discovered alcohol & drugs. (Now sober & only use kratom & occasionally pot or psychadelic herbs.) This is a blessing & a curse, as I often feel anger towards my family, for their abuse & cold disregard of my feelings. Also, being bullied at school & my...

    Hello, I Am New Here.

Researching Asperger's syndrome on behalf of a friend, I recognised myself in most of the traits. I have since watched a plethora of YT videos, both from people with Asperger's & mental health professionals. I also scored a 33 on the AQ test I am 43 years old & going thru a lot of mixed...
