  • Irony is crabbing about people who do nothing but crab about absolutely eveything, other people included.

I’m guilty of crabbing about those people lol. Negative people drive me nuts.

ROFL. Great observation, @Darkkin! :) Hope you're well!

PS: I imagine they are infested with crabs...
Our pipsqueak cardinal is flying. He was on the patio table with his mama this afternoon. A small thing, but this little fellow matters.

I have a set of Doctor Who magnets that I arrange into the first constellation I spot each night when I let the dogs out.

That is imaginative. What is your favorite, Darkkin? Mine is Scorpius. It is at the southern horizon in the Summer as I am 44 degrees north. But with good conditions I can see the star clusters, M4 and M7, the Butterfly Cluster and the Ptolemy Cluster.

I've always had a fondness for Cassiopeia.
Went out on a limb and tried something...and it wasn't dreadful. Rudimentary yes, dreadful no.

Now I am of course curious! :)

I was messing around with some watercolours last night.

Oh, very nice! :) Acrylics are much more forgiving because you can make mistakes and paint over, but watercolour is such a lovely medium...what did you paint?
Bad function tonight, three books down and I'm still awake...feels like a bag of worms in my chest.

Malted milk? Half a glass of red wine? Counting sheep?

A technique that I found helpful for getting off to sleep is to think of a thing, then of a completely unrelated thing, then of a completely unrelated thing to that etc. Like: Toaster. Grass seed. Engine. Hypothalamus. Gutenberg press. Yo-yo. Wood fire. Small intestine. (etc etc)
    Callistemon

That works really well for me. And sometimes, trying to listen to a podcast down low on one earphone. Blah blah blah, especially if it's a difficult subject, then off to sleep I would drift... ;)

Nothing worse than worms in the chest. I dont know what that is, but it sounds terrible. You have heart problems, right. That's very sad. Here's hoping you feel better. And find a way to alleviate this effectively.
Character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you. -(Borrowed from a library sign.)

Yeah, that's a good one, @Darkkin! Which is why it's informative to look at how people treat wait staff, checkout operators, taxi drivers, children, etc. Sinatra apparently was an absolute toad to hotel staff...
    Callistemon

Another one I like - this was from a school canteen - "No manners, no service."

I think I saw on a docu, once. Sinatra would wear a new pair of underwear everyday, get back to his hotel and take it throw it at a lackey, he had a guy that would pick up his dirty underwear.

Yeah he reportedly treated people very badly. Known for slappin around people. Associated with la cosa nostra. All kinds of shady stuff. Still dont know how sammy REALLY lost his eye. Mafia stuff.
We now have outside flowers for the summer. Yard art is out. And I got to play with dirt on my terms.
If you can be sincerely glad for the successes of those close to you, you are in a place many fail to reach.

@CaIlistemon I've been playing it for the last 24 hours, you just haven't been able to hear it.

Do I need smaller ears, or bigger ears, to hear the really small violin? ;)
    Stuttermabolur
    Stuttermabolur
Larger ears might help if there is complete silence, but if there is any noise at all, it might be best to use your small set and bring them right up to the violin.
Life for a Rue Dog is tough. He got his floof stolen and nails dremelled. Potato Cat got brushed, on his terms. Zwi also got nails done.
    Luca
    Luca
I did everyone’s nails yesterday too, after being attacked by a client’s dog for doing his nails… mine did not attack me, but they had to be bribed. Lol
    Darkkin
    Darkkin
Rue is small enough that he just rolls onto his back feet in the air to do them. Zwi, I have to treat like a horse and they do okay. Mostly because they know they feel better afterward.

I'm sick of fake *witches too lol. Reminds me of a magnet my friend got me that says "allergic to pendejadas."
How do people deal with chronic negativity? I seriously do not understand the concept. Am I defective because I don't get it?
    Darkkin
    Darkkin
My jerk of a brain locked onto the fundamental wrongness of it and decided to be logical and try constructive reasoning. My focus nob needs a rubber mallet to adjust it because I understand why others got aggressive. Out of sheer frustration.

    Darkkin
It is also why I post discussion threads. Talk about it, consider it, be aware of the pattern, but approach it in an open, constructive way.
