how to be less negative, or pessimistic.

I think I have been oblivious to the way people perceive me for years... I think somewhere inside theres a piece of me that enjoys the debate, but others don't see it that way... apparently. Also my energy level is high and I feel like Im being like happy excited, but people seem to be...

what does it feel like to be happy?

This is a question I have wondered about for a long time. Everywhere I look I see happiness and laughter. But no matter how hard I try, I am always on the outside looking in. I used to think it was achievable, I just had to try hard enough. but after 29 years of failure, how do I lie to...

how to be less negative, or pessimistic.

That's a big problem for me as well banquo. I always try to persuade everyone to agree with me. Im not even sure why I try so hard. It really makes no difference to me in the end. It must be a compulsion of sorts, because even when I realize its happening, I still cant stop myself most of the...

I dont think there anything "wrong" with me.

That's so very simple yet so very deep. I would have never thought of it like that in a million years, but put that way makes so much sense to be putting in all this effort to change the weak stuff. If all you ever do is what your good at, then you must be missing out on something.

how to be less negative, or pessimistic.

You have some great ideas, Im getting a little better at behaviors I want to do more, It started about 2 years ago with just saying hi to random people everywhere. it was awkward at first, cuz id say "hi", then people would respond "hi" back "how are you" I would respond with "good"... and...

how to be less negative, or pessimistic.

I like the way you think, but I don't really hold a grudge. I forgive whats been done, mostly because of what you said, being angry about it doesn't help me any. what I meant more was the lasting, semi-permanent effects the abuse has on a child or youth. like anxiety or problems with authority...

Does anyone here have family members who also have aspergers, as well as themselves

Re: Does anyone here have family members who also have aspergers, as well as themselv That sounds quite similar to my family. It was quite the thanksgiving... lol.

how to be less negative, or pessimistic.

Wow that has got to be the best way I have ever heard it explained. You put in exactly the terms I need for my brain to get it. People say just cheer up, or think positive. Those are such intangible things it is so difficult. My brain works like a logical computer looking for problems and...

    Sense of Belonging.

Yea lowering expectations can be a big part of it. I had a horrible habit of expecting too much from people, but I finally realized that not even I could live up to my own expectations, then I was forced to lower them, and that can help a lot.

Does this joke make sense to anyone?

    Yikes that's deep.

    Paranoid thoughts?

Wow that's very interesting total recoil. Im definitely seeing some similarities between us. I like how you have decided to trust your feelings less as your mood worsens. I feel the change as well, as my mood dampens everything I perceive starts to have more negativity to it. I am only just...

Are Sleep Problems my biggest problem?

hi there, yes I have wondered that for years. I tried Seroquel to help me sleep for about 6 months. it did help me sleep, and it did help balance out some of my mood issues, they were less frequent and quicker to pass. BUT there were so many side effects from the medication that I chose to...

    New Member-ForeverDorks

Hi Daniel, nice to meet you. it sounds like you will fit right in here. I am very new here as well. So far it has been very refreshing compared to some other forums. I love forums, but a lot of them get infected with hate and anger and ignorance. This forum has been amazing, everyone is...

Anybody on here live anywhere close to bc or canada?

I'm a 29 year old male from BC Canada, and I just learned I have asperger's a few days ago. Anyways I have felt alone my entire life because nobody ever understood me or was anything like me. Now that I know I'm not the only one I was hoping some time in the future to meet somebody like me in...

I dont think there anything "wrong" with me.

I agree. the only thing "wrong" that I see is that NT's in general have yet to accept our behaviour, most of the issues arise from the way they perceive our actions, it truly isn't our actions that are the problem. I would say In most cases, because there are some behaviours that I feel are...
