    Sexual Attraction

Hey, thanks a lot for your post. Nice to, for the first time in my life, say this about myself, and have someone relate to me. That means a lot. I'm very grateful too. C.

    Sexual Attraction

Thank you so much for you kind words. My kiddos are with mom, who recently relocated to the east coast. I can't recall a time in my life when I've had this much opportunity for self-reflection. Life had been a day-to-day fight for decades. Going back and replaying my life has been super helpful...

    Sexual Attraction

That's a good point and a thought I've definitely had. I guess it would be in the specific case that I spontaneously become very attached and I guess what is considered "in love" with someone. I think that would be an outlier situation, but is still a possibility. For clarification, I can find...

    Sexual Attraction

My father has lived in a Los Angeles community with a very active gay population. He and my stepmom are friends with many gay people - his wife works in the fashion industry. It's one thing to be cool with unrelated people being in a homosexual relationship - but I think it would be an...

    Sexual Attraction

I'm not in any kind of relationship now. I don't have a particular prospective partner either. I've just never come to terms with who I am in this regard. I've been this person as long as I can remember. My first intimate relationship as a kid was with a boy and since then it's been with girls...

    Sexual Attraction

Huge issue that I've never really confronted ... ... 100% serious. I cannot for the life of me discern beauty, be it female or male. I'm saying this. .... it all looks the same. I was married 11 years. I'm perfectly happy with a heterosexual partner that loves and respects me. I didn't have...

What one particular social cue or courtesy you most struggle with?

That just takes a ton of practice. I work in a job where I'm constantly around people, so I'm very practiced at that, to the point that I'm pretty quick with responses. Maybe try going out of your way to engage people when at the store or park, etc. Try to give up the fear that they will see...

"New" Aspie tries to prove that maybe he's wrong about having austism...

Exactly! Garbage in, garbage out! What REALLY sucks about this situation and the outcome ... it was outdoors lolololol! No issue with acoustics.... however, there was this, and it is likely a big contributor - everyone was significantly "social distancing," so they were substantially raising...

"New" Aspie tries to prove that maybe he's wrong about having austism...

Hes such a nice guy... and he's a little out there... I think that might actually end up being a good thing. We've known eachother a long time. We have a TON of common interests too.

Oh yeah ... my solution: mull about incessantly and avoid the extroverts like the plague.

"New" Aspie tries to prove that maybe he's wrong about having austism...

I hear ya. I kinda get panicky and feel like I already acted weird and some part of me hopes that I'll get my composure back and then clear things up, rather than bail and leave it 100% weird... maybe that makes no sense.

"New" Aspie tries to prove that maybe he's wrong about having austism...

I kinda lucked out. The acting manager came out and broke everything up, and a tennis member was complaining about the noise level... that guy and I continued out to the parking lot, where we could talk a bit ... I wasn't relaxed any longer and couldn't "flow at all, but at least I could...

"New" Aspie tries to prove that maybe he's wrong about having austism...

So...last Saturday there was a naughty little gathering of members at my tennis club where I teach... maybe 20 members all brought their own alcohol and were having an impromptu party ... I should add that everyone was staying quite separated ... they all had their individual little "island" on...

What one particular social cue or courtesy you most struggle with?

I have all of these! I was told that it's a bit rude to not look someone in the eye when having a conversation, so I 100% look in the eyes ... but I've had a couple of issues with that. 1) It's apparently over the top sometimes. I had one friend of the family tell me as we were conversing that...
