    That makes sense. I guess it would be more accurate to say I am made much more aware of my inability to "connect", in the same way that one may not realize they are hungry until surrounded by food but unable to eat.

    I was adopted, and because of my aversion to eye contact, they always assumed that whatever I said was a lie. I was raised in a cult, didn't go to school, and was regarded as nothing but free labor by the people that raised me. as far as genetics I do not know.

    Maladaptive daydreaming?

    I pace constantly to help me think but find that I do it significantly less when I am in less stressful situations. also only do it when no one else is around because it seems to make people uncomfortable.
