Why 2 ASDs may not work together?

It is also troublesome to have two ASDs being close together, and becoming either best of friends and worst of enemies. Because the more they know each other, through their common problems and struggles, the more they can also potentially hurt each other.

An ASD, whom I shall not name, did hurt another fellow ASD. Both are my friends. That fellow ASD supports a football team that gets relegated (or booted out) from the football league. He also faced considerable troubles in his relationship with his girlfriend. Then his old best friend said something insensitive, ?your life is a mess, just like your football team?. You?d think that both ASD friends became worst of enemies ? they indeed do!

You would think that in a 'perfect world' brothers and sisters on the ASD spectrum would come together to support each other and not try to hurt each other. I don't know your friends perfectly, but I find that I often argue over certain points with my good friend with AS. It is usually over public space, like the library. If I'm relaxing and breaking the rules by reading a library book with a soda in my hand and chillin out. He will come up to me and remind me that I'm breaking the rules, because there is a possibilty of me destroying public property for my indulgence, so I tell him to stop policing me, lol.

I think Aspies tend to be too logical. If your football team is a mess, then your life is a mess. I see your friend is drawing a parallel, but not seperating what happened to the football team from your friends life. Those two thoughts are not equal or the same. We all know it is our tendency to say things that are hurtful or damaging to others, but learning to 'let go' is an important growth step for coping with our differences. We all fall down and we all must get back up.

True. 2 people in a relationship w/ ASDs should never be assumed to be fully compatible with each other. Hell, he may have had more luck with a 'neurotypical' but who knows.

I admit I feel better in an NT world, outside this forum (and other similar supportive ones) relating to my interests
