What goes through the mind of a child abuser?

I constantly wonder what kind of person can abuse a child. Are people that abuse children sick in the head? Many abusers use the excuse that they too were abused and they think that is a reason to abuse someone else. A child born with autism experiences meltdowns. We have no control over them. Even when we know that we will be hurt by an adult after a meltdown, we still cannot control the meltdown. Someone who is being abused cannot go to the police because no one will believe them or their only way to survive comes from the abuser. So many children are being abused in the world and our government just allows it to happen. The same type of person that can abuse a child is the type that will also abuse an animal. I chose not to hurt anyone after being abused by my parents and others. I wanted to prove that just because you were abused as a child, it does not give you the excuse to abuse others.
