Thoughts re: Dolls Part 1

I am considering "Dolls" separately, for now, in regard to the
generator titled "VooDoo Dolls."

Some ideas about dolls/Part 1

I liked dolls when I was little.
I didn't much like playing dolls with other kids, though.
They seemed to want to do stupid things with their dolls.
I didn't want to play "Mommy/Daddy/Brothers & Sisters" doing whatever
it was the other kids were thinking up.

I made up stories in my head when I was by myself with my dolls.
They had adventures. They built houses to weather the winter.
They built rafts to go down the river.
They camped in their cradle with blankets for a tent to keep warm.

I had a couple cheap dolls that squeaked when you squeezed their heads.
Their heads went back into shape no matter how many times I pressed
on either side to make the face wedge-like. I didn't have a high regard
for those two dolls.

My favorite little doll was only a inch tall.

The expression "dolled up" has always sounded so old-fashioned to me.
Very artificial, stiff.

Dolly fashion is fancy, but I think it's silly when the girls doing it say "this is the real me."
If it were the real them, they wouldn't need to put on lacy clothes and thick
makeup. The style expresses how they want to be regarded, but is a sort of
cover up in as much as they think it is a 'reveal.'

To be a doll is to be non-living. It is to be a toy.
I don't want to be a doll. I don't want to be a toy.
