thoughts on "What do they usually do?"/#18

What do they usually do?

The words to this title are so bland and generic I had to look
up the generator to remind myself what it had been about.

The idea was various actors either wanting or not wanting
pastry/baked goods.
===
The words themselves, "what do they usually do?" makes
a sort of blue gray color in my head.
===
Who are "they"?
"They" is an undetermined number of individuals.
I am getting used to people using the word 'they' to mean an
individual of no determined sex/gender. "They" still means
more than one person, to me though.

It seems vague to call one person "they."
Individuals are "they" when there is a group of them.
An individual is not a group.
===

"What do they usually do"
Maybe sometimes they do other things but this is the most
typical action.

This seems like a figure/ground situation.
What I find myself seeing it the outliers.
The events that stand out-----stand out against the background
of typical/usual.

Knowing what is usual is useful.
Knowing what is usual means there is predictability.
Knowing what is usual + what stands out means you know the range of behavior.
